I saw more regular tourists then usual. A cruise ship was in the harbor at Puerto Plata. I saw several mid size tour bus putttering between PP and Caberreti. I noticed a upscale gift shop next door to Rumbas that was doing a decent business. It seemed businesses were doing very well.

I was not serious about taking anyone, but did manage a sampling of the ones that came up to me. They all started at 3000 for 1 hour. With me telling them that was ridiculous they would go down to 2500. Then with me telling them to be serious they would go down to 2000. If I was not repulsed by them then I am sure I could have told them 1000 and they would have come.

He reported on every July. Appears that was not the month to go. The exchange rate took a big dip down to 47.14 (year's low) that month last year then went right back up.
