I just finished 5 nights there. Friday there was live music and the place was packed. The other days there was very few folks at the place. I wish them luck.

If you knew the new owners you would not be saying that they won't be in business long. One of the owners has been living in Sosua for ten years and is a musician with a huge following and tons of friends, when he plays the local bars in Sosua he packs the places, now he will be playing at his own bar. He is also a successful home builder here. The other owner owns a condominium complex and has lived here a number of years. My point is that both of these guys have already been successful in business on this island, if anyone can make a run at it it's these two guys. Starting next week they will have live music three times a week.

When girls have been on the stroll long enough they lose their inhibition for sex and values like honesty. They view us as oppurtunities to get the things they need. Often we are chance encounters that they do not intend to see again. A quick snatch and go is justified to them. We need to be on guard or your things will disappear. I have had my loses like most guys who enjoy our hobby.

There's a lot simple stuff you can do to reduce harassement and petty theft from so-called "dumb" locals. The forum is full advice, but a lot of newbies insist (egos?) on learning he hard way!

I have a second time visitor newbie down here with me, who I'm still trying to train. LOL.

He still makes eye contact with local touts and putas, and answers their questions out of home grown politeness. He handles those shiny watches the touts bring to he bar, asks how much, and even compliments the "art work" they flog! He is still learning that if you handle the merchandise, including the chicas, they believe they have a sale!

He's just a nice guy! But he's still learning how to deal with this new aggressive environment, but he is gradually getting streetproofed!

The biggest, and most widespread problem I see here right now, is the theft of phones from bars. You can walk along the street and see mongers posted up at Bourbon Street, and Central with their phones laid out in front of them on the sidewalk bar open to the passing crowd. One minor distraction, and it's gone. Even bartenders are losing their phones. I know of 2 this week!

So don't worry about a few pesos on the dresser, or some after shave, look after that damn phone!

Losing that can be a major pain in the ass!

You could do that if you want but the point I'm trying to make here to help out my fellow mongers is that we need to be smart and not present opportunities for the girls to steal from us. Its the best advice I can give to help people have a good experience. Nothing is ever 100 percent in this game but there are things we can do on our end to make sure things go as smooth as possible. You let your guard down, and because of that things went bad. I left my wallet on the table, and somehow a chica managed to clean out the 500 pesos I had in there. She was already gone when I discovered it. I wasn't mad at her. It was my fault because I gave her the opportunity. Lesson learned. Happy hunting guys!

Here is a man in the arena that understands the environment within his area of operations. He is dead on point. There are those with many questions. Which is a surprise given the level of experience some claim to have on the island. I've had a large quantity of girls pass through my apartment over many years of living here (Santo Domingo este). I've never had anything come up missing. It's not about figuring out where to go. It is the company you keep. Don't lie down with thieves and they won't steal from you.

Great idea, next time I'll remove all the furniture, windows, paintings, etc from the room so the chica can't practice extortion by threatening to damage them.

Hey guys,

Uber was around 2000 pesos but when the driver showed up he wanted more money, he said 75 dollars total for that trip so I got upset and said forget it. He would not cancel so I couldn't get another uber. I ended up taking a taxi which was 85 dollars I think. After doing the trip I don't think anyone is doing that run for 40 dollars. I plan to return soon!

I had a few Uber drivers do this to me. They upside The amount once they arrived. Please remember to Report the driver to Uber! And let him know you are gong to doing it. Unlike Bad freelancing chicas Uber can help put a stop to this BS.

I find it sad that people are having bad experiences and bashing the chicas because they got robbed. We have plenty of time to prepare for chicas coming over and this includes chica proofing the room. A simple rule is to never give a chica free roam of your place unattended. If you really feel like you need a shower before you start, tell the girl to come in the shower with you. I've done that plenty of times and soaping each other up in the shower is a great way to get things started. The chicas job is to get as much out of you as they possibly can. So yes if you give them an opportunity don't be surprised or upset when they take it. If they steal from us, that's on us, not them. My 2 cents.

That is why I suck it up and pay the ATM fees. Only been ripped off once, that that is when I was coming back from getting cash in Santo Domingo. She sat on my lap at the hotel patio and became annoying, so I sent her have. After I finished my drink, my wallet was on the group with most of the cash missing. About a $120 lesson, but better than having a wallet full. I now only take out what is needed and keep the rest in a sage. I had another problem chica one time that went through my stuff while I was in the bathroom. I had all the important stuff locked up, so no harm. I usually take a padlock in chain to lock up the closets, or my suitcase in no closet available. The bottom line, is: lock it up, don't carry too much cash!

I talked to a guy a few weeks ago that told me the same thing. You can only take one girl in per day. I used to be a member of the place in it's heyday when Armando owned the place before he was deported. Used to be chica friendly on the beach walk side. Had our own entrance off that strip that leads down to the beach. All that side is closed now for a long time. So now as I understand it you can only have one lady per day and that is all she wrote. Do one short time and you are done for the day.

With all the hotels in town, many that have been renovated, I don't know why they would want to shoot themselves in the foot with a ridiculous policy like that. But then perhaps they know what to expect from enough mongers who will pay extra just to bring a different chica in during the same day.

I thought what he was saying was that you can only bring one girl per day. So if you have one in the afternoon and them try to bring a different one one back that night, they charge you 30 bucks. I am almost positive that they will not allow you to bring in 2 girls at the same time, so I don't think he was talking about having to pay an extra 30 bucks to have a threesome.

You threw me off when you asked initially, "Is this true? You can only invite one female on your entire trip!" The entire trip part is distinctly different than "you can only bring one girl per day". NightWhaler is saying you can take one girl in per day. Not necessarily have to keep her the entire trip.

I've been to over 45 countries and only been robbed twice, both in Sosua.

I was in City Lights last night and feel in love with a fine puta, but I was wrong.

First red flag: Miguel did not know her, and Juan either.

In the room, she was a problem. Crying and begging, so I sent her packing. But she saw where I was hiding my money, thus, she cleaned me out; 500 US.

Plus, the puta took my comb! You would figure the puta had 500 bucks; she can buy her own fucking comb!

I talked to Brother P on WhatsApp and he quoted, "Not the fucking comb!
