The Cangrejos (Crab) Bridge has been rebuilt. This means way more easier access to Puerto Plata proper and its local bars and daygame for those of us who like to wander and hunt. It cuts the previous 40 min detour that raised the taxi cost and of course time. This also works in reverse, meaning more girls from the countryside will venture into the scene via bus and taxi. Win / win fellas.

How did you make out on your trip? I'm coming in three weeks. I'm not sure if we're docking at Amber cove or Taino Bay. I would really love to find something near the port, but I'm not holding my breath on that. We're also stopping at St. Maarten a few days before where the spots are within walking distance of the port. So, I'm super stoked because I'm heading off to Sosua in a couple weeks. I've got a burning question for you. Have any of you had any good threesomes off the streets there? I mean, I know it's a total gamble, it's totally worth it for an absolutely wild time.

Here's my game plan: I usually start with a one-on-one session with a girl, and if we hit it off, I'll casually bring up the idea of a threesome with another partner. Because it's relatively inexpensive, Colombia experiences similar issues to Sosua with ghetto girls looking for Thuglife men. Check out the videos online. I am with Fuk. You can not talk about an entire country based on what you saw on a subset of videos about one corner in one city. Guys in Rio used to do that same shit They would go to Help, Meia Pataca, and 4 X 4 and think Brazil is full of hookers. Nevermind they were only going to places where hookers were. I have been to more parts of Colombia than most Colombians. I do not have the view that you have because I have never been to that one corner that you are talking about. And if I had, then I have a myriad of experiences from other places in Colombia to know that all, most, or even a little part of Colombia is not like that one corner.

Some guys complain about quality but when you have hundreds to choose from there is no problem finding what ever you like. I use airbnb in Sosua and have no problems. Sosua is very simple Baileys, Rumbas, The Casino Playa Chiquita and the beach. This is point and click with a tad bit of hunting. Some guys are lazy and do not adjust to the enviroment. Out side of mongering Sosua is very pleasant , good food, fellowship with the guys and great beaches.

I've read through the last ten pages of the forum, including the nine pages discussing why Sosua is better, as good as, or worse than other places (LOL). I made my first trip to Cartagena earlier this year and read similar content. All I will say is that if you put me in a town full of girls who want to work for under $100 I will manage to have a good time.

Answer: yes, at 100 usd, you can get an hour with a decent chick. Street girls are often ghetto with tats, and might take 3000 p (55 usd).

I haven't been able to find any good advice on accommodations. I don't need five star luxury but I would like to stay in a nice hotel or resort environment. At my age I can't do a second-rate bed. Are most places guest-friendly? Am I going to have an issue bringing girls back? I'm not going to run through a dozen in 3-4 days, but I don't want any issues.

Answer: stay near New Garden, or Terra Linda. It is close to restaurants and has free breakfast. Many girls around, restaurants and short walk to the beach.

I would also welcome any info on the weather. Looks like I can expect a high in the low 80's, but I have found Caribbean forecasts to be either wrong or not indicative of how the weather feels. Are the next few weeks likely to be good for beach, boating, snorkeling, etc? I can be temporarily monogamous if I meet a girl I like. Thoughts on taking her out for touristy stuff? Cruise, water activities? Seems to be common in Cartagena. Seems like eating well won't be a problem.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Colombia. I got to say, I respectfully disagree with you on this one. Colombia may have its issues, like any other country, but it's definitely not all about "ghetto girls" and "Thuglife men. " That's just a stereotype, my friend.

Sure, there might be some videos online that show certain aspects of Colombia, but let's not judge an entire country based on that. It's like saying all Americans are obsessed with fast food and reality TV just because we see it on TV. Trust me, there's so much more to Colombia than what those videos might show.

And as for the safety concerns, well, every place has its risks. But if you do your research, take necessary precautions, and use some good old common sense, you can have an amazing time in Colombia without any issues. It's all about being street smart, my friend.

After 6 nights in POP and Sosua, I am definitely a little disappointed. Girls on the street are ghetto and looking for the Thuglife guys. Ghetto tattoos on chest / forearms / fingers are not my thing. And they want 3000 p plus and are often going to have a bad attitude for that price. There are higher quality girls off of Tinder, but they usually want 100 usd for an hour or more. I did not go to the casino etc looking for the higher quality girls out on the town, but I expect them to be 100 usd or more and are probably the same girls as on Tinder. So I suspect only the long term visitors who make connections are getting the girls with good attitudes etc at a decent price. If you are a vacationer, and want cheaper girls of ok quality, go to Black beards in POP.

Finally, there isn't much of a nightclub scene near kings / the jolly roger area of town. The days of Rhumba's is over. Disappointing. And restaurants in that area are very close to American prices.

So all in all, the reasons mongers go to such countries is largely gone in sosua. I might start looking at Colombia.

In Sosua there is no need to rent a car. It is a very small town. Driving in SD is a night mare did it once will not again. I like to keep a low profile. Having an accident has the potential to ruin your fun big time. Pussy is every where in Sosua. Most girls try to give you what you want. Learn a little Spanish and communicate with the ladies you will be amazed at how much fun you can have. I am deep in my 60's no tats and ladies treat me like a rock star. Tinder for me would be like taking sand to the beach in Sosua.

Under no circumstances should you rent a car if you have never been here before. I'm serious.

I've driven all the way from Canada down to Jaco, Costa Rica. So yeah, I've had my fair share of experience in third world conditions. I even drove down in East Africa too,

If that is the case then I would definitely rent a car. DR has much less traffic than those places (especially between Sosua and Puerto Plata. It is just a country road. You only need to watch out for the motorcycles doing whatever they want. I did not rent a car my first four times in the DR, but the over 100 times since, I can not see myself not having access to one.
