Caribe takes about 2 hrs from Sosua to the Santiago bus station.
A cab from the bus station to STI might take another 30 min if my memory serves me.
For a 3 PM flight, I wouldn't bother leaving the night before.

Posts: 2116If you want to be at STI by 1 PM, it might be sensible to get out of Sosua by 9 AM. 10 AM might also be OK, depending on whether it is a weekend or regular day as SantIago gets jammed up by mid day. In any case, there is no need to get out the night before as buses are punctual. By the way, you may also try Metro bus which is in Sosua itself, compared to Caribe but Caribe has more frequency of service while Metro may require you to get out by 8 AM.

Posts: 264Flying out of Santiago (STI)
Gentlemen,
In order to catch a 3 PM int'l flight out of STI:
1. At what time to leave Sosua if using Caribe bus to Santiago and then taxi from bus station to STI?
2. Or is it better to leave for Santiago the night before and not risk same-day Sosua to STI airport via bus and taxi?
Thanks for any feedback.
Frankfurt.

It has been quite some time and Mayor Neumann's campaign to drive chicas out of Sosua continues. Rumbas remains closed, as does DeLatins. Rancho Tipico remains closed, as well as several small bars where chicas could once be found. Available chicas can now congregate in Merengue bar starting around 10 pm, a few can be found at Bourbon Street, and Haitianas gather at City Lights every night.
The ability of chicas to stroll up and down the Pedro Clisante strip has been hampered by the mayor's latest project, shown in the attached photos. After requiring all the open air bars to put up glass walls and become ovens, the new scheme apparently is to attack the street scene directly. If there are streetwalkers, let's tear up the sidewalks. The sidewalk has been destroyed from the corner of Dr. Rosen all the way past Merengue bar, ruining the business of many nice little restaurants in the process. This condition persisted the entire week I was there and there was no sign of any effort to repave or otherwise repair the sidewalk. Sosuanews.com claims that the project is nearing completion, whatever that means.
This being off-season, there were few chicas to be found on the beach in the day time. Apart from chicas we knew from prior trips, it was a challenge to find good talent at reasonable prices, with many asking 3,000 DOP or more, although some can be found for 1500 to 2000. We were at Picaflor restaurant outside of Sosua several times, where there were 15 to 40 girls. The price at this place remains $100 for 4 hours, $150 for all night. Service from Picaflor chicas was not consistent; several claim that CBJ only is their official policy, although others provided good service.
