Bars (alcohol) closed for 2 days, re-open Monday, maybe.

Already one dead in SD and voting machines are having technical problems. Don't recall this much fooferaw inpast elections.

Because that is the day everybody is off work and can go vote. In our country it is the opposite and everybody complains about the polls closing before they can get a chance to get there from work.

    Election blues

Hope you don't fall into this election weekend that's got the country churned up. Bars here are closed, Pedro is dead! Alcohol is banned except for the A. I. s (some favored bars serve beer in the back in paper cups and an empty coke bottle on the side! Fools nobody but "keeps up appearances" for the cops!

My restaurant business contacts say it's because if the elections don't go the right way for some, the natives can get very restless! LOL.

I left the Sue yesterday. I was told to hurry up and get alcohol because all the places will be closed due to the election on Sunday. Once I arrived in Boca Chica took a break and later that night decided to hit the block. It was about 1201 midnight. I hadn't seen a block so empty since I was in Cuba The same week Fidel past.

My Spanish is pretty good. I enjoy a nice glass of wine and a good meal downtown. I enjoy the music and conversation. I don't want to be confined to ahnvee. I don't want other races thinking downtown is theirs.

I've been hearing since December that ahnvee is on the s at at t list. Too much attention. Dudes can't stop with the YouTube videos. Wouldn't surprise me if some action was taken after the election.
Dammit that damn Gogo. Now I'm headed to the Sue to get up with his crew. Taking my road dog Bro Jay. We're going to give this place two days I really want to give an honest evaluation. Brother P sounds like you and I may have the same gripes.
IMHO That segregation or separation is targeted toward the Haitians. There wasn't A major problem with guys doing videos. Video footage of the Su has been floating around for years. That's why the club still allows video coverage inside of the resort. They actually want the promotion. When you control the movement of the people you control who is allowed to enter the premises. Thus no more freedom to roam hurts the Haitians the most because some don't have paperwork.
And even if they did have paperwork unless they are a little connected no entry. The Dominicans don't mind black or white Americans money, but they do have a problem with the Haitians getting money.

I'll be there in a few days

I seriously need to join the site, but I didn't expect my plans to change so quickly either. I'll be flying into POP Monday and back out the next Tuesday. Was supposed to be a trip with the girlfriend (spent a month in DR over 2 trips the last year with her) . But. Well. Not so much now, so I'm single and staying at Europa instead of original plans. Time to make the best of it!

I would be perfectly happy to buy a couple drinks and such for anyone who would like to chat and / or guide me a bit. Just wings and beers with a friendly soul is good with me. Not looking to get into too much trouble, but don't plan on coming back home without getting into some trouble! I would hope to have a couple great reports when I come back. I guess I'll find out soon though!

Which begs the question: Will the politicos in Sosua stuff the ballot box in favor of Ilana? Can they?

Anyone else want to make a prediction?

Anyone willing to make a fun and friendly prediction as to who the winner will be? I predict Willie El Chamo beats incumbent Ilana Neumann 51 percent to 49 percent, respectively. What say you guys?

Then they wonder why things get shut down. They've made it clear they want things quiet and discreet.
