Wait for the weekends to judge the place. Starting Thursdays the quality girls come. Only the hard core girls are out during the week days. You will see see.
I read as much info as I could on here before visiting, and as far as I can tell there is some useful and accurate advice which I appreciate.
However, I will report on my experience thus far.
I walked around the busiest areas of Sosua for probably an hour, seeing dozens of girls and interacting with a handful. There is definitely a lot of girls. But, I was very disappointed with the quality. I've often read comments about the quality of girls in various places that I've disagreed with, as I generally find working girls to be more attractive than these reports suggest. Here however, the majority of girls are objectively unattractive. They are often overweight, smelly, and have small boobs and flabby asses. Almost all have ugly faces.
It took me much longer than I would like to find a half decent one. She was maybe a 5/10 but I was pretty tired of walking around. I brought her back and security took her ID. Their system is that they take the girls ID, and give her it back afterwards.
Less than 5 minutes in, she started with the 'leche papi' nonsense and seemed quite lazy and unwilling to put in effort. This was especially disappointing as I had offered more than I needed to in the hopes of coaxing out some effort on her part. I told her I would pay the money I agreed, but wanted her to leave as I wasn't feeling it. She kept asking for a further tip which was obviously not happening. Before leaving, she stole some money from my desk while putting on clothes. She denied it but wouldn't empty out her purse. I didn't force the issue as I don't want confrontation with these ghetto types but I told security. He didn't seem to want or know how to help so he just gave her the ID back and she left.
It was only $20-40 stolen so I wasn't overly bothered. I went back out to try and find a better girl but couldn't find one. The quality is really low in Sosua. I can't stress that enough. If you are not concerned with looks or performance and just want cheap street girls then this place may work for you. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

Glad you seen it first hand "welcome to the shit hole" jump on plane and go straight to Medellin!
Yesterday in Colombia I met a chick online that was not a hooker but wanted money for school. I offered her 100 (as in 100,000 Colombian pesos or $26) to come over. She was talking about send the money so she could get dolled up for me. I said I thought you needed the money for school but you are talking about wasting it at a beauty shop. She said 100 dollars is not enough for school. I said bih, who is in Barranquilla talking about dollars? We use pesos here. She said definitely not 100,000 pesos. Are these chicks oblivious to how much actual hookers cost? Because they mistakenly value themselves well over the rate.
She was not a hooker. She was an online scammer. Thought she could get you to send her some money by paypal or some other system before meeting and then she would be a "no show". Could even have been a guy from Nigeria who posted some photos of another woman online.

The bus is a good option. Like Olski said it's about $5. I didn't know it ran on the hour. Metro does it run every hour. Several times I missed an hour and it ran and had to wait 2 to 3 hours for the next bus. After negotiating $20 for a taxi to take me to the bus station and then waiting on the bus; I realize next time I'll just have Uber take me all the way to my room for $60.
Caribbean tours does not take you to the Su. Metro has the only station in the city however CB get you close enough. At CB bus station you will have to pay another taxi to take you to your place in the Su.
If I was coming from the capital I may take the bus. If I am in Santiago it's less hassle and easier to just take an Uber directly from the airport.
The Uber drivers sometimes come with that bullshit. They know how much Uber is charging but they will tell you they have to charge you more because Uber isn't working properly. For example Uber may say the ride is 2300. I tell the taxi I'm going to pay him $60 and he's happy. The price is $75 to $175 prior with the taxis mafia.
Lyft is also a good option. You can decide on the price before the ride shows. It's usually slightly more than Uber however everyone has an understanding and established price.
I know you usually don't come solo. So I thought Uber would be better but you need 3 or less people to fit comfortably in the car.
I am actually arriving solo, because the other dudes are getting there a day before me. If all works out as planned, I will be flying into POP and won't need to worry about STI.
Thanks Grownman! So, you wouldn't recommend the bus, I see. I have been reading about Uber trying to rip people off also, but $60 isn't bad. When are you going to be back in the DR?

I have used Tropiclink from Santiago to Blackbeards several times, but not since Covid. They have a toll free number to get info. Several on the BB forum have used this, check that forum for more info. https://www.tropiclink.net.
Thank you, I will look into that option, if needed.
Take an Uber. It should be around $60. It will take you right to your room. The buses run on a schedule time. Taxi mafia charges 20 - 40 bucks to take you to the bus station.

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best and reliable way to get from STI to the Su? Arriving around 2 pm.

Everything you said is on point and why we are so comfortable in the SU but if the girls were not there we would not be. Every time I go and that is often I meet someone who blows my mind and makes me want to hurry back. Sosua is so easy to function in. No Spanish or transportation needed. No one judging or being looked at slant eyed while you stroll with a young hotty. It is our own little paradise.
Yep its the SU intangibles that makes the SU great NOT the street chicas. And the main intangibles is the growing expat community. You literaly have all walks of life that's willing and readily available to help you make your vacation and / or move there a good one. Case in point I remember how a random female that was traveling by herself from the states came and talk to us on the beach and boom just like that you were hooking her up with females for her the next day. More then once I be in playero supermarket and I over hear a brotha helping out another brotha and give him pointers. I personally haven't seen that comradery in the states since I went to the Million Man March. Its what my father and great uncles was talking about how we helped each other back in the 50's 60's and 70's and I saw it in the SU. And its not just the brothers. Again its all the expats from all walks of life.
Hell just meeting up with you and Oakie and I'm honestly set with the honeys because theyre going to turn me on to their friends etc. Can you imagine what it be like when I meet up with other OGs on here.
The intangibles of having someone that you have never met be so open to share their knowledge so that you can live well and prosper in the DR is what makes that little town and the towns around it special.
