They said that the decline in the tourism sector is the cause that a lot of workers have lost their jobs. Out of necessity they have now chosen to become motoconchos to make money to support their families. The problem is that there are now more motoconchos than tourists. The transport of school kids has also come to an end for the school holiday. So the life of a motoconcho is therefore more difficult."

NOTICE The article said "decline in the tourism sector". There is no tourism other than sex tourism in Sosua, so are the referring to a decline in tourism island wide? From what others have said here, places like New Garden and Mary Rose have been booked solid. So monger tourism is still thriving?
Nice article. Reinforces why the cruise ship business is vital for the overall Puerto Plata tourism. A legit tourism can not be sustained via budget mongers.

Increased number of motoconchos caused by unemployment

The woman on the cash register most of the time is the novia of the owner, an English guy, and she is not easily shocked. I think sales of sildenafil and tadalafil are one of their major lines of business, and they have some excellent condoms at a good price too. Anyway when you walk in there, they have a pretty good idea what you are there for, it is either the pills or the cold beer. You can sit at a table outside and enjoy your beer, so sidewalk cafe experience at colmado price.

The pharmacies also have local girls working there, though in one pharmacy they are often wearing Cialis brand polo shirts, in case you forgot what you came in for.

BTW, there is another pharmacy just half a block from New Garden hotel, next to the Bon ice cream parlor.

Or you can get it in the pharmacies. There is one at the Metro Bus station, about 30 yards from Rumba Bar. Is that close enough?

6 Days, and I tap out

I've been going for so long, I got to the point where 4 days was all I could take. But then I learned something. I was going from Thursday to Sunday. That means "Rush-Hour" and everything that comes with it (only middle seats available on the flights, high flight prices, weekend "ballers", and the putas that love to shake them down, etc)

So I started going from Sunday to Friday. That way, I can catch the weekend girls that haven't left yet, and then enjoy a semi-peaceful week and bail out just when the new arrival mongers show up, and the hardcore weekend putas return. Chicas are much more open to negotiating on a Tuesday than on Saturday night.

    Just my $.02

Actually, never had a bad experience with a girl in Sosua. Scammed once or twice for a drink but really didn't care. What I dislike about Sosewer is its Viper Pit vibe. After a while the large congregation of Mongers wears on you. After about 2 days of busting nuts, it becomes disturbing to be chilling at the bar talking to chicas as the guy next to you is running down a porn check list with every chick that passes by and wondering why he is being quoted outlandish prices and having bad outcomes.

I'm actually hoping they close Passions, CMP and alike down with major demolition of the remaining jack shacks. Its like Rio has simply gone too far and not just because of the "Bottle Poppers" Mainly the scooglies so called directing traffic and self proclaimed vets.

True, don't let grass grow between your toes. This last trip. I was back and forth between SD, Santiago, Puerto Plata and Sosua. I stayed in Sosua 3 different days / nights while on vacation. I went elsewhere to check out other contacts I had in other cities. All done in 12 short days. Stayed 15 days in Sosua in May / June. Rented a car and was all over the place.

True! In addition, some have become disappointed or turned off because much of Sosua's action may not resemble what they were used to. Unable or unwilling to adapt (in Sosua) , they resort to disliking Sosua and moving on. Which is fine. Their departure does not ruin someone elses vacation or ability to make new friends.

That's a good point. Why go to Sosua if where one came from is supposedly more interesting? And of course a language barrier or unable to relate to the culture can also be a major factor.

One shooting I recall, happened last year August (I was there 3 days before) was with dominican men. But that incident may not be directly influenced by the music or the clientel at El Flow. Those guys were in a dispute with each other, plus other people were involved. That dispute moved from one club to the next. It just happened to end in front of El Flow. But I agree with you. The management probably did decide to change their musical selection at some point to appeal to a certain crowd / vibe (dominicans / locals) , and eliminate another.
Both of those videos are deep in the Gogo forum. The killing was the ending of an altercation that started at El Toros with some Canadian guys disrespecting a Dominican who went and got his friend. The friend bought his gun. The video is riveting as the guy with the gun is ambushed by a guy with a chair.

The other one is the girl who looks like "Halle Berry" walking in and pistol whipping a couple people before shooting and leaving. Anyone esnt to see the video, check back about 15 months in the gogo forum.
