I was pissed because of the 1 hour notice, and by the way it was told to me.

Got notified by Rick I had to leave after noon, while I was stepping out to drive to Pto Pta for a date. I had requested my reservation to be extended the day before, and Colin had told me they would let me know in the morning. By noon I had assumed I was fine, and went on with my life before being told that they were about to pick up a good customer at the airport. And that I could have one of the cheaper no A/C room upstairs.

Felt like second-class citizen, and it screwed up my date.

In retrospect, no big deal, of course. Plus I liked Voramar better.

I was at Rocky's today. Mary Rose has been fully booked. SS was doing a day to day so when another person who had a reservation came he had to go. I also met a guy who lives there that said Rick asked hom to find places for 2 other people it happened to in the past week. Maybe SS was one of those people.

Can't wait for Classico to reopen this week-end. This no-disco situation is pretty painful. At least weather has been awesome....

Ok so I'm headed to Sosua (New Gardens) tomorrow

I haven't been there since Sept so I understand a few things have changed.

Just a few questions.

(1) If I pay the take out fee for a girl at Passions do I have to her another cost?

(2) Is it okay to take video of the bars and girls walking by at night?

(3) What's a good place for breakfast?

(4) What's a good spot for chicas around 4pm?

1. Possibly the cost of a room, condoms, refreshments.

2. A lot of people don't like it. Dominicans may tell you it is illegal, but I'm not sure if this is correct. Sosua seems to be a military zone of some kind.

3. New Cafe, the green structure in front of Club Residencial has an excellent breakfast, comfortable seating, and wi-fi. Also La Planchera restaurant which is almost opposite.

4. It's a bit early, but if you walk around something might catch your eye. May be more chicas at weekends as some arrive early by bus from far off places. You might check the times of the buses arriving at the Metro Bus terminal at the Texaco station and see what gets off the 4:00 pm bus.

I respect what you are saying but recognize we are grown and take risks based on our perspectives. If a guy is gong indulge it is his decision. If I can provide some information to make the potential for problems less. I am comfortable. Like you said we are going to do what we are going to do. We all choose our vices. I do not drink but do enjoy a weed buzz every now and then.

I should have just sent the guy a PM. However I am sure there are plenty of guys who enjoy a weed buzz and are considering bringing there own or buying there. I have done both. While I am not advocating that anyone take the risk but if they do they need to be aware of how to mitigate their risk. We are all taking chances with our hobby. You guys advicing against using are right / However we are all big boy and make our own decisions. I wanted to share my experience in hope it can help one of our brothers who choose to pursue their chose. If the consensus was taken on fucking prositutes in a 3rd world country. Iam very sure we would be advised that this is a very dangerous pursuit and no one should do this. The consequences for getting caught can be very harsh. So if you are going take the chance then you need to be very careful. I will not post any further comments on this subject but if someone wishes to send a PM I will be happy to share my insights. Inclosing we all choose our own poisons and call our own shots.

Could you go into more detail on this. You had already paid up until the end of your trip and then Rick came and kicked you out and refunded your money? Or it was your last day and you planned to extend your trip and he told you to leave because it was check out time and he had another customer coming?

It seems like a really fucked up thing to do to kick you out of a place you had been staying in for another customer.

The "lack of action during the day" has nothing to do with "everything finished in time". The chicas are not roaming around during the day because (post December 2010 crackdown) they will be arrested. Even before the crackdowns (pre December 2010) you would not find any chicas roaming around until noon at the earliest.

You can also pull off the beach in the afternoons. I pulled a couple off the beach last month.

I agree, its not worth it. Even the association can lead to a setup. I don't associate with people that do drugs in the DR. I wrote previously about my cousin getting caught in Cabarete on my first DR trip. He looked scared, his momma and the family was scared, and the Dominicans weren't giving him a break. Now that I think about it he hasn't been back to the DR since 2006.

I had only one guy in Sosua come up to me and offer weed. I ignored him pretty quickly.

couple months ago a dude in sosua got busted for pot growing on his roof, while i was down there a month ago a few people said that he was their friend and starving to death at the puerto plata jail because noone will visit him on fear they will be labeled drug dealer as well. i suggest you climb in your car on a hot day and instead of rolling down the windows because it is so hot you just see how long it takes to pass out from the heat. maybe practice pooping down a flag pole pipe as well. that and watch the movie deliverance starring ned beaty, you will be ned in the jail.

Do the math. A local can earn a few hundred pesos selling you weed. Or he can share in the US$10, 000 plus you will gladly pay to get out of jail. Even if he only gets 10, and the cops and lawyers share the other 90, 50, 000 pesos is slightly more than a few hundred pesos.

The risk of getting entrapped may be small, and no greater than in screwing strange women, but the damage if you come unstuck is likely to be vastly greater.
