Posts: 461Negative Or Positive PCR. (For inbound to US from anywhere)
Well. . According to this, it would be great to have a positive PCR test. As long as its accompanied by a note that says you're recovered. But that probably means the note should be from a US doctor. Doubt it would fly at check in at SDQ with a note from a Dominican doctor. Have fun trying to explain that one.

Trump relaxed the COVID testing for inbound US flights effective 26 Jan. Binden says he will reinstate.
Who knows anymore. I am planning on getting a COVID test if my airline requires it.

The antibody test is for testing whether you have had Covid, and are presumably immune. On that a positive result would be an indication of probable immunity, but this is not acceptable for travel anywhere. It is also known as serology test.
Moral of the story. If you have had Covid and recovered you will still need a test with a negative result for having Covid. Before you fly to Canada or US.

Good day,
Thank you for contacting the Canadian Consulate in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
We understand you have enquiries regarding the mandatory requirement for a pre-departure COVID-19 testing and negative results to be required for all air travellers coming to Canada.
Effective midnight on January 7, 2021 (00:00 EST or 05:00 UCT), regardless of citizenship, all travellers five years of age or older must provide proof of a negative laboratory test result for COVID-19 to the airline prior to boarding a flight to Canada.
Acceptable tests.
The test must be performed using one of two types of COVID-19 testseither a molecular polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) and must be conducted within 96 hours of the traveller's scheduled departure to Canada.
Proof to board a flight.
All travellers coming to Canada must present proof of a negative laboratory test result for COVID-19 at the time of boarding. Failure to do so will mean an automatic denial of boarding by the airline operating the flight to Canada.

I was there for 3 days last year with a severe bladder infection, and they wanted to cut me up. If my regular had not took charge got me out of there, I might still be there, LOL.
There should be other alternatives available for the test.
