February is the lull for Europe where you can get RT flights for 5 bills. Once March kicks in it is $1k. Once July rolls around it is $1500-2500. Every year this happens and the DR has its cycle too. No conspiracy… just business.

I am disappointed to come on the forum and see you guys talking about airlines. If you are coming; you are coming. Then I realize I am just as much as fault as you airline talking guys cause I am at ground zero and this is the first time that I can write a report without coming back to the states. So to kill the airline talk lets explain what is going on here in Sosua.
Day 1 Leaving the airport I see my name posted on a placard and get VIP service, the locals thinking I am some celebrity it was not normal but my head is swelling up as I look at the chicas noticing me and probably my wallet (lol).
Get to place and check in. First stop is to exchange money for my amigos I always keep cash on me from the countries I visit. Check in with my amigos and you know how you have a plan. Never have preset plans. Get cash and go to bar. I am drinking and my amigos are liking the few chicas they see, we are experience mongers (Rio, Costa Rica, etc...) They had never been to DR. After drinking we get some grub and to the villa. We get clean up and for some reason one wants to have a drinking contest, I did not come to get drunk, well maybe get drunk but asisde from that. We eventually head to the Merangue Bar (I cant spell). We never make it to Classicos on Night 1. We grab chicas and that is how the night ends. Day 2 will be added later

The only thing I know about the Delta flights there is that they cut back 17% on there flights and almost tripled there price.I flew into Puerto Plata for 450 dollars from Michigan at Xmas and now its 1300 dollars for same flight?Spirit flys to Santigo cheap and to Santo Domingo cheap.

I bought and paid for a flight from Puerto Plata to Atlanta that was leaving on a Monday in August, 2009 but the airline, Delta Airlines, cancelled that flight and told me either take the flight on Sunday or nothing (or having to stay in the DR for good).
Has this happened to many of you out there? Is this the recession biting? I am as mad as hell. One less day of nookie. At least I will be heading to Haiti the following week, if they don't cancel those flights either.

Remember the Love Hotel, Hotel Caliso if you get into a bind. Its just 75 feet North of the two banks that are together its very cheap. Works in a pinch if you can't get a girl in your Hotel or Condo-no id checks here.

Posts: 129New Garden Hotel trying to make reservations
I have been waiting to get a confirmation to the New Garden Hotel. I tried to e-mail today, but the site was down. Does anyone else know the deal with this place. I called yesterday and was told to do it at their website. But with the site being down how can I. I really wanted to stay at the New Garden after reading the good reviews about, Wilfried helping people out, he sounds like a cool guy. I am going with my wife to monger in July. Should I try to find out what is going on at the New Garden or should I go elsewhere? How exactly do they make reservations? I have aslo heard stories of peoople going there and no rooms being available that would really suck.
Any help is appreiciated
Carlos

The Daily Rate is $1,000.00 USD Per day + 10% Gratuity Off peak May-November. For six men this rounds out to $185.00 per day, which for the quality of the property in question is a deal second to none (It was built less than two years ago.). The villa does cater to, and is rented for bachelor parties (Read the guest reviews.).
The Villa is 1.5 miles from Playa Sosua, in the neighborhood of Playa Chiquita (A suburb of Sosua.). It is 1 block north-east from the Playa Chiquita casino, directly at the end of calle Alejo Martinez. You can walk right into town (Downtown), having a car is an option; not a dependency.
Here’s a link to a town street map (PDF file) showing the exact location of the Villa :

The Casa Los Suenos is C12 (Upper-right hand corner)
The properties in Cabarete (Hotels, Condos, Villas), though very beautiful, are not guest-friendly; and all of the condos and villas I've looked at prohibited prostitution on their premises (The nerve of these people!!).
2. Sousa with the surroundings areas Cabarete (To the East 8 miles.) and Playa Dorada complex (To the Southwest. 13 miles.) will be just fine.
For non-pros: Cabarete, Playa Dorada Complex, Sosua.
For Pros: Sosua, Cabarete, Playa Dorada Complex.
3. Sosua is known for it’s (eh..hem…) beach (some water activities.) & scuba diving, there is no golf in the town proper. As stated by other members, Mels tour is the local tours operator.
Cabarete is the waters sports and activities mecca of the north coast, it also has the nicest beach.
Here a link for more info: http://www.activecabarete.com/
The Playa Dorado Complex is made up of 10+ Resorts (Most All-Inclusive) and the Playa Dorada Golf Course. There is a beach, restaurants, casinos, and nightclubs at the complex.
Here's a link to the Golf Course: http://www.playadoradagolf.com/
If you LOVE golf and don’t mind the 43 mile trek to get there, then you may want to look at Playa Grande Golf Course.
So as you can see Sosua, Cabarete, and Playa Dorada Complex all offer different, but complimentary activities that will cater to everyone’s wants and expectations.
As stated by other members rent 3 cars for maximum choice & flexibility, also rent from the major car rental companies; local rental companies tend to be underhanded and dishonest. BTW Casa Los Suenos has a two car garage.
As far as Villas between Sosua and Cabarete that would not be my first choice (It would actually be my last…), you would find it inconvenient and maybe feel a little isolating.
Here’s a previous post where you’ll find more links to other condo, villas and town information.

1.) Rent A Van
2.) Pay A Driver To Work Full Time for my group
3.) Financial Times are hard here in the DR and Tourist are coming but not like before so I would rent an entire small hotel that has pool and cool rooms, bar and privacy. (These owners are doing these deals because they have a lot of empty rooms.)
4.) I would not stay in Sosua because being harassed in the streets gets old after the first few hours. (it's not just the girls that harass. It's the people begging. The motoconchos. Fool trying to exchange money. People in the shops. People on the beach. It just never ends in Sosua.) A lot of you like it but I don't. It bothers me.)
5.) I would hit up the grocery store and stock one of the rooms as my bar and have drinks galore so the party would never end. (Even if I had to make a day trip to Santiago and go to the Pricemart (it's like Costco) it would be well worth it because you can get a gang of stuff cheap.)
6.) I would do the first night in Sosua and let the girls know what was up with my PARTY HOTEL situation and you would soon find out that the girls would make their way to where you were on their own. (Actually, this is a good thing to know: Dominicans are gossiper. They talk a lot. Everyone here knows everything that is happening in the city where they are. Saying this, after you bring your first batch of girls back tell them to get on the phone and there you go.) Say you are having a party and it's not going to stop until you get on the plane and you will have none stop girls.
By doing it this way you would find that you and your group would have a party to remember for a lifetime.
