There is nothing worse then taking a weeks vacation and only really getting into it the last few days, because you spent the first few trying to understanding the landscape. I and others will use these gems you provided to save time and hit it hard soon after arrival.

What about a few breakfast places with great ambiance? What are your top 3?
    Waterfront Hotel?

Could you recommend nice dining beachfront or oceanfront (budget not a concern)? Either a restaurant in a resort or a free standing restaurant is OK. I really enjoy having a nice meal, watching the sunset, and having a few cocktails while sitting on the water.

    Thanks again

Though it is not "chica friendly" (though I'm sure you could eat at the restaurant with a date) try Sosua By the Sea.

On the non-monger DR forums, it gets raves for quality, service, etc.
    look for:

About four years ago, A friend of mine posted pictures of girls from Black Beards and also wrote a detailed report about his experience. Unfortunately, someone that had access to the paid site showed the females the pictures and translated what he wrote about them. The next time he visited the DR, he was met with the cold shoulder from many females. One female followed him around all day to tell other females what he did.

I just came back from the DR, and some females have access to some paid sites (yes. they have a username and password). It amazes me that there are some western union boyfriends that provide their girlfriends with this information. Obvisously, they received a lot of valuable information from sites like this, but I guess their love for these females is strong.

I love to see females faces in pictures, but it might be better to blur their faces because you want the same experience everytime you visit the country. I take a lot of pics and I would love to post them because I've received a lot of information from this site. But there are too many western union boyfriends out there monitoring the site.

i was a little surprised though i know i shouldn't be at the amount of skepticism that my post was met with. i posted it only because i believed it to be something that i would want to be aware of and would hope someone else would post if they had such knowledge and would share.

i am not personally insulted by the skepticism because i believe these individuals are skeptical for either one of two reasons.

the first reason is that they are totally lacking in street smarts. i do not mean to insult anyone but if this pertains to you it might serve as a wake up call and a reality check. there are allot of desperate people that live by their wits day to day on the fringes of existence and such circumstances sometimes produce some very strange bed partners and scenarios sometimes emerge where a cop a lawyer and a accuser collaborate and agree that the next tourist/gringo they see they are going to target and scam.

i heard of one story a couple years ago where a guy was just walking down the street in santiago and a chica on the back of a cops motorcycle pointed to him and said that’s the guy who raped me! lucky for this guy he had just arrived in country hours before this accusation but still had to pay "his lawyer" who reasons unknown was following both the officer and chica on the motorcycle in his car while they were looking for the perpetrator of this alleged [CodeWord123]. go figure!

the second reason i believe some guys react with such knee-jerk skepticism ("sounds like there’s some holes in this story") is that it is a little scary to come to terms with the realization that on a bright sunny day your liberties could suddenly be taken away and you could just disappear and be alone in a dirty and dangerous place and nobody knows where you are or what happened to you. a place where you may not be fluent in the language and that everyone. even your own lawyer will see you as a living breathing atm machine

i must admit that i am disheartened by some posters and their automatic assumption of some wrong doing by the tourist involved/victimized by this scam. all things being equal when there are two conflicting accounts or version of an incident like this i will always take the word of the gringo tourist over the accusations of a dominican lawyer and his street prostitute client especially when it is money that seems to be involved and at issue.

i believe that such doubters engage in this type of character assassination of the victim for the above-mentioned reasons i had given. they want to believe that if this guy was somehow wrong then this could never happen to them and so therefore "they" are safe or immune to this ever happening to "them". wrong that is an illusion. this could happen to any of us.

when incidents like this happen we should circle the wagons, close ranks and support one another because in this type of guerilla warfare it is really us against them.

Bahia Boy, Im sorry if I offended your female sensitivities. My comment was to make the following point. Yes, he got cased up. Yes, it is a shame to see anyone extorted. However, you should not place pics of women on here without their permission. And if you do, you deserve whatever remedies available to her under Dominican Law or street justice. From first hand knowledge of the situation, he is lucky that her lawyer is all that went after them.

Second point, as someone that has had to learn the ways and customs of the Dominica the hard way; disrespecting the locals will come back to you in ways you would have never ever possibly have fathomed. In the words of the immortal John Whitherspoon "Ho's got a eat too!" A mans woman may be a ho but you don't rub it in his face. And Cops don't get involved in shit lest you really fucked up or present yourself in a manor that offends their sensibilities. (Thats even in the attempted to shake down.) Nine times out of ten they get involved either for two reason; one they can get some money out of the idiot and two to intervene when they know a local is about to fuck the tourist up.

Thats my two cents from visiting for the last 5 years and living for the current 6. Bahia Boy, I dont need a lecture from you on a mongering spot about manners.

I remember asking you about SD. I was planing a trip down that way.

You said you were from the maple leaf country. This was in Febuary.

At the time you were staying at the garden while I was next door in an apartment at casa valeria.

Both The Palms and the Trade Winds are just up the hill from the car wash.

The Trade winds is the better of the two. The owner of Britannia has for or
five apartments for rent at the palms. I am renting year round for 350 monthly.
I plan on having a better look at the Trade Winds to buy later.

For me it is not all about the chica. I can walk down the hill from the palms and end up at the gym. that is on the main drag (pedro C.) inn ten minutes I am at passions. another ten minutes I am at the beach.

At nigh you take motoconcho down Pedro C. Take a right and you are five
minutes away. It is not for eveyone. I am living there now. I am Captain of a ship. After a hundred days in Nigeria, Walking in the small village of Sousa is a pleasure.

Hope to see you again soon. I arrive June 7th. and depart to Nigeria the end of July. All the best!

    Capt. Dave
Hey Cap, thanks for the info and memory refreshing. For some reason I just can't picture your face. Did we chat over breakfast at NG?
I've heard of the gym being a good place to check out as well but never found it and I did alot of walking. Where is it located from Passion's?
I won't be back in Sosua till later this year so I won't see you this time around but maybe our paths will cross again in the future. Happy sailing!

Admittedly I don't know the details, but I think I understand the situation.
Legally, you can't publish imaged of a person without their consent.
Many chicas don't want their faces published in connection with "immoral activity". Some only do what they have do to feed kids, pay for college, etc and don't want their family and friends (or childrren) to know.

If anybody wants to talk about a "code" it should be a code that explicit or incrimnating photos of girls don't get published without permission.

  8. #2453
You really don't need to break this down. Bottome line is that chicas are available everywhere, and except for a few establishments that cater to families, they all allow the chicas to subtley, or not-so-subtely ply their trade.

    But just for kicks...

Shark Bar Great hangout, great music, best burgers, owner Lou is tops, chicas stop by all the time.

Rockies- decent breakfast, great ribs, wireless internet and PC's available. Not a pickup location

Tony’s Bar – Beach Location Salsa Music

Callate - Beach Bar owned by Ernesto #144 on beach

    Britannia Pub
    Happy Hour Bar
    Jolly Roger Bar
    Eddy’s – Sports Bar
Pedro McMurphy’s Irish Sports Bar All of these places have decent food and decent value. Neber actually picked up chicas there, Usually stop by for a quick bite or a cold beer,

Caiperinia bar – Chicas after hours bar Don't think I've been there

Cubre Libre Bar – Soapy’s Haven't been here in a few months, but I never knew there were soapies available. There are only a few bar stools at a small bar that is close to the street. Met some cuties there a few times. Some nights they have karaoke,

La Passion - Massage to Full Service, Swimming Pool, Drinks available

Tropicana - looks like a dump. Massage available on-site. Right next door to Classico's.

    4 Roses
    Dominoes
Sousa Life Bar These are all watering holes that are frequented by some hardcore putas

Club 59 Is actally the combo of Merenge / Classico's

Classico’s - dance joint on top of Merenge bar. Many agressive chicas pawing at you usually. Gringo heaven for most newcomers.

Meringue Bar - Center of nightlife on the strip. Downstair;s from Classico's. Many, many, many putas

Latino’s - Dance joint next to Merenge. Very loud. Not fond of the management or bartenders. Aggressive putas

Sea Crests - Can't figure this joint out. Not very busy. Bar chicas available for a ridiculous salida. Saw quite a few trannies hanging there. Located near the Shark Bar.

Latina Club - Don't know to what you are referring

After One - New dance joint that opens (you guessed it) after 1 am. This is an after hours alternative to the Casino at Play Chiquita.

Good point i don`t know if any of you guys follow local or national dominican news but last week the chief of the national police announced that he will replace the entire Sosua police force due to negligence and potential links to criminals.
Check out this article of a local newspaper in Puerto Plata called puerto plata digital.

I'm not posting nor abbreviating the story. Common sense and perspective, and a healthy bit of respect for where you are and who you're dealing with, was needed. Failure to administer that, and unfortunate consequences were meted out. Read it yourself there and make your own judgments.

Unfortunately, our buddy Tung might find himself with issues back in Quito due to one of these fucked up dudes ratting out pics. Check the board there. This monger game has really changed. No code at all.
I found it thanks. It sounds like more of a set up than anything else.

I found the cops to be pretty cool in the DR. I usually give them a nod when I walk by.

I did make the one mistake of helping a monger rid himself of a leech chica and I was on her shit list for the rest of my trip. I will have to deal with it when I go back. You have to try and diffuse any sort of flare up as soon as you can.

I've never gotten why dudes feel the need to advertise online pics of these girls to these girls or other girls. I mean, what are they trying to accomplish?

I also remember years ago going into one of the Santo Domingo spots, having a cuba libre. Some gringo walks in with what appeared to be a list of spots and prices, AND pics of various girls and starts showing them around to the girls to find one particular girl. Mind you, he spoke very bad Spanish, so he was lost in translation. I got out of there quickly after finishing my drink, and by then, the house manager had grabbed the papers and started reading them too. I don't know how it turned out, but I could care less.
