With all due respect brother, I really enjoyed your report. But when the police get involved over a few dollars, you don't need that shit. SD and Boca are good spots but not like Sosua. I stay at El Candi in B.C. And Mercure when in S.D. Both are chica friendly with easy hunting nearby. You are right when you get that one enjoy her completely. With me its about Quality not Quantity. I'm going down in Sept. I got a girlfriend in S.D. Then I catch the metro to Sosua and go crazy for a few days. It's all an adventure live it.

Man that was a helluva report. I must put it in Reports of Distinction. But after going to Sosua, why would you want to waste your time in fucking Boca Chica? It sucks. There is no comparison. I have not been there in almost a year, but last time I was there it was a midnight curfew. That was enough to turn me off. I am not sure if it is still going on or not. But at midnight the cops were in the street making sure that the place was being vacated. The only think I liked about BC is that they had casas with a couple of drop dead gorgeous women. But at the same time I was not willing to pay US$80 to session with them. Maybe make plans to fly into SDQ to check out the Boca Chica scene. When you get the bad taste in your mouth you will probably want to take the bus back to Sosua. Then you can fly out of POP. If you insist on Boca Chica then I recommend:

Of course you know, Boca Chica is not a good place to look for non-pros. Also, Boca Chica dies down in September, following the departure of the Italian tourists at the end of the August (Boca Chica's best months of the year are March, April, and August.)
There are a couple of places in Boca Chica that may be good enough (such as a room at Playa Vista) and you may want to consider looking for a condo in Santo Domingo (check-out the Real Estate section of DR1.)

"My Trip"
first, i'the like to thank everyone on this board for the info before i went on my first trip to dr. i was well prepared for the "putas". especially helpmann (see the "gazelle" and "tigre" report.
i was somewhat unsure about my first trip to dr. i've taken spanish classes in college. but even then i was average speaking the langauge. i'm pretty laid back type of guy. somewhat shy, but i took this trip solo.
i stayed in tradewinds condos thru marco (rocky). it's great deal ($255/week) lots of space, pool, and 24 hour security.
my first two days in sosua were fantastic. i spent my entire day walking the town and the beach picking up chicks and taking them back to the condo. i can't stress enough how important it is to venture out in sosua. about 95% of the women there are available to you. enjoy. i also can't stress enough the "gazelle" analogy. gazelles will rarely approach you! its not their nature! newbies, if you see a lady you like make eye contact, smile, try to speak their langauge. its easy.

Usually most hotels will give you a discount if you pay in cash.
It is well known that the power goes down in sosua. I was walking in Pedro Clisante and the power went down. It was pretty scary for a few moments.
One night when I was at Classicos they had power problems too.

More About Money
Only for those who are interested in occasional non-chica info....if not, please just scroll on by.
I forgot yesterday, but the name for the difference between the price for selling the dollars to get pesos at the airport/bank and the price for buying them with pesos to pay for a hotel room quoted in dollars is called "the spread". Yes, for real---the spread. Playing the spread is what the hotel owners are doing when they quote prices in dollars, receive an American credit card payment in pesos and then charge enough pesos to buy the dollars.
MINI-RANT: The country's economy is in pesos! The charge should be in pesos!
I also forgot to mention that the easiest way to avoid the hassle is to bring actual green dollars and then pay the hotel bill in American cash. Then, $45 dollars is still just $45 dollars. No transaction fee.
And finally, I forgot to mention that THE CLUB RESIDENTIAL is costly... something like $54 dollars/day and if you pay with a credit card it's ANOTHER 4% ADDED ON!!! SAFE is another $1.50 USD/day.
However, if you can afford it, it's worth it....if you want comfort, quiet, reliable AC and hot water and a generator that kicks in when the power goes out. Why is it that no one mention that the electric power goes out a few times each evening in Sosua for short stretches and you are plunged into darkeness? It does, you know.

About The Bill
The reason you were charged 34 instead of 32 is because that's the price it will cost them to BUY THE $45 DOLLARS they are charging you. When you have dollars from home and want to sell them for pesos...the price you would get is 32. The difference, and it exists in all currency exchange, is what the money changer/banks/investor makes. Originally Posted by Artisttyp

The whole thing would be a lot simpler if they charged in pesos. Period! However, I'm sure that many Americans would be completely confused about the cost if it weren't stated in American dollars. So, by stating the cost in dollars, it allows them to run this kind of soft scam in order to accumulate dollars rather than pesos....invest the dollars and play the currency exchange market in the DR....or even "export" the dollars to banks in other countries like Germany or Italy...where a lot of DR hotel owners may be based.

Also, thanks for your "reality check" on the hardcore, less than ethical putas, who are more than likely ready to scam you than pleasure you. I agree that it can be all that. On the other hand, like our mate HELPMANN (see BC boards) would say, it's all about "the hunt". Searching for "gazelles" and learning how to avoid being eaten by "the tigresses" while hunting for and hopefully finding your sweet gazelle.
Finally, I did stay at the German run CLUB RESIDENTIAL for a number of weeks and found it perfect. Small apt-like set up with kitchen and separate living room. Friendly guards always at the locked gate and sitting around at the rear wall. I always felt protected and safe in my room. Of course, also very chica friendly---with cedula. And I often brought more than 1 chica/day to my room with no problem. In fact, usually it was one from the beach/street during the day and another at night from a club. Show the cedula and I was in. Without one, no deal. I never tried to show money and bribe. I respected their rule...and them for making it. I left it at that.

Thoughts on final thoughts

On this trip I hired an SUV AND a driver for $60 per day each and had only the gasoline to pay for after that.
Here is an amusing anecdote that has not much to do with sex, but tells you a bit about the relationship between the sexes in the DR.
I was at my dentist's in Puerto Plata getting some major work done. Ahead of me was a little girl of about 6 who was raising hell in the dentist's chair and making it impossible to give her anesthetic injections so that a crooked front incisor could be pulled. The female dentist, her mother, and auntie were quite unable to get her cooperation. so the dentist called for me to be sent in to play the part of the bogeyman, telling the child that if she did not cooperate the big white doctor would be dealing with her. So I went in and sat down and held her hand and told her to be tranquila and keep her boca abierta. Immediately all resistance stopped, the injections were given, the tooth was pulled, and the whole job was over in 2-3 minutes. Getting up from the chair, the young lady smiled at me flirtatiously, waved goodbye, and cheerfully marched out.

My final thoughts
Im not leaving until tuesday but I wanted to get this off my chest so I can stop thinking about it.
This is my third trip to the DR. Ive stayed twice before in cabarete while visiting sosua in the day then staying in cabarete at night. Ive always enjoyed that set up since cabarete has more nature to enjoy and I can get to sosua by public taxi for $30 pesos. Also I felt I had an advantage being one of the few mongers in cabarete compared to one of the crowd in sosua. I went back to cabarte and its dead.
Im 37 years old pretty experienced in south america. I know spanish the music and I have a few tatoos. I say this so people will get a general idea of who I am because I feel it does somewhat effect your experience here.
Im staying at the new garden hotel which has been very comfortable for me. Everything is in order such as hot water AC etc. The staff is very friendly and there are sometimes girls sitting around the pool waiting for a client. My best experience so far has been with one of those girls on my first day.
It is located very close to the bars and beach on a side street. The noise isnt bad but you can still hear some motoconchos. I travel with earplugs and a sound machine. I suggest you bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
The only complaint I have about new garden is when I paid the bill with my credit card for some reason I was charged $45 a night but it was figured out at the peso rate of 34 when 32 to the dollar is the going rate. I lost $76 in the transaction and no charge or fee to use my credit card was ever discussed. I didnt say anything since it was my first day but it didnt sit well with me. Im not going to make a stink about $76 on a two week bill so I let it rest.
Ive been here like 9 days and have had sex 5 times and for those who know my reports that is nothing. Im not crazy about what Im seeing nor am I into the attitudes of the girls. Also Ive come across alot of birth defects and scars which is really turning me off. I was with one girl who had an anus that dangled from her ass and another who had very bad spotty discoloration on her snatch. You really need to investigate what your getting before bringing her back to your room. I picked up a girl from cabarete looking for work and had a decent session with her for $1000 pesos. The girls Ive talked to who are associated with any clubs turn out to be lame pros who dont know how to treat guys. I think they have been spoiled too much and want it too easy. I like hunting in the day but its the same few girls and they look rather skanky. Night time is when they all come out but you need to feel them out since many are really hardened pros. Most of the time they will try to hit and run to pick up another client. I was paying $50 for a few days but my price has gone way down . The service just isnt worth it and compared to south america I could be getting quality for $15. I just spent the month of june in buenos aires. This couldnt compare in a million years.
The weather has been great and I am having fun and whenever my gut tells me its cool I go for it. The guys who do really well here are guys into black women and like to hang out in night clubs. These guys go to the disco everynight and do that club thing and sometimes they establish realationships with these girls and get it free. The music is awful. It sounds like tweak music made by toy instruments with a latin rap on top of it. Its a shame nobody has thought of having a live group to play merengue. There are many musicans on the beach who would do it for nothing. Bottom line the night life is pretty boring with very little class or romance. Again south america wins in that department.
The food situation isnt that great either. All I can say is thank god for rockys. It a great place to eat and just hang out.
I went around looking for long term apartments so I thought I would share some info. New garden hotel is great for a week but for the price of two weeks you can get an apartment for a month http://www.clubresidencial.com,clubr...cial@yahoo.com is a nice german owned apartment complex with two swimming pools and great looking apartments for around $646 a month then you have to pay an electric bill according to a meter. They allow girls but they have a rule of one girl per 24 hours because there are alot of families. Its the place for an older monger or someone that isnt too hardcore into it. The other find is called guest house koch with little cabanas spread out along a garden with an ocean view for $443 or so a month. The rooms are very basic but great view and girls are allowed at your own risk. You will have to enter and exit through the family home. Call felix at 809-571-2284 also there is no safe in the room. It is situated right next door to a condo complex. You will be sitting on your grey cement balcony being looked at by condo snobs right next door.
I dont like the idea of the apartments across the main highway. I wont say the names because it isnt polite. I dont like them because you have to cross a busy road all the time and I havent heard of one with a safe in the room. I was also told security is pretty laxed and if you get a trouble chica there may not be immediate help.

Sosua apartment
Dear fellows,
I've always stayed in Las Canas, yet they don't have any available 2 bedrooms (I will visit with my bets buddy) for the second half of Sept. For a 1 bedroom without AC they're asking $ 40 per night.
Has anyone had any experience with The Tradewinds? Can anyone recommend any other lodgings with similar comfort/prices as Las Canas?

I know I have. If I know I am going to be with a chick and am going to want to get away later then I just arrange with a friend to call me at a certain time. Then I say that I have to go pick my daughter up or my friend needs help with his car or some bullshit like that. Sosua La Passion
I had the most fun, the best sexual experince of my life in Costambar with a high end call girl from Puerto Plata. We ate at some cracker box on the beach around sun down, soon after that we were walking down the beach, then the clothes came off, then we started fucking in public, I guess about 2 hours worth as many people watched and a few had positive comments.
