Actually I have a non puta novia in San Andres and I go back to the SD/BC area every 3 to 4 months. I was thinking on flying in to POP next time and try the north coast for some action. I do speak spanish and can carry my own weight with the chicas. I was just asking for some town names so as to visit while I'm up north...Thanks

The campos - small towns outside of the main towns - are also good but you need to speak the language.

Find out the legal implications about the Palace. There is alot going on there and you don't want to be left hanging. Just a friendly piece of advice. Since you do not live in DR you might not be aware of the implications of what is going on. That is all I can say about it. You can ask around in Sosua and get a better idea of what is going on. Take care.

As a possible alternative to local "non-putas" consider what might be termed local "unspoiled putas". For practical purposes every little town and village in the country has a bar or bars and virtually every one of them has a gross excess of young waitresses sitting around for the purpose of attracting guys to drink. These chicas in bars away from the tourist areas are mostly unspoiled in the sense that they are there for the local traffic and are not used to extranjeros or gringos - or the inflated prices and expectations of the tourist areas.
These chicas are not necessarily putas and will not necessarily be willing to leave with you - at least the first time you meet. If they do leave there will be a small salida to pay (200 pesos or so is not so small by local standards and chicas are not that used to getting taken out from work). They are there to drink (sharing a Presidente Grande or Servicio) with you and dance if you want. This is to me a wonderful way to practice spanish and merengue, meet lots of pretty girls who are very interested in you and sometimes hook up with one.
To me this is one of the under-reported and most attractive aspects of the DR as a whole. Available young cute chicas are NOT just a tourist-town abberation, the local culture is extremely player-friendly and as a gringo-extranjero you are assumed to be rich and connected - which certainly gives you extra player points.
As to whether chicas in local bars and colmados are putas I would say that's as variable as topless dancers or barmaids in neighborhood clubs in the US. The job is not super respectable but it's not the same thing as being a Ho. Many girls in either would be quite insulted by a blunt offer of money for sex (though in both cases the degree of insult is in inverse proportion to the sum mentioned).
1000 pesos in this environment is throwing money around lavishly and stupidly. That's close to a week's wages. It's similar to offering a small town bar girl in the US $500. You will certainly get attention but you risk being disrespected as a fool and a mark.
Unlike trying to meet coeds and more upper middle class chicas this is like fishing in a barrel. Consider how comparatively rare topless bars or bars where you can easily pick up a girl at any time really are in the US. It's as though in the DR they are everywhere -as common as partystores or fast food places in the US.The DR is awash with semi-pro chicas just waiting to be hit on. Just order a Presidente Grande and a few plastic cups and start practicing your spanish. You'll be surprised at how much more motivated to learn you are than you were back in Mr. Garcia's class in high school.

Posts: 74I have not been to Sosua in 3 years. I have stayed at the Palace and John was always a true gentleman. How is that place now and what are the hot spots in that town or should I stay in another town? It has been a while so I am looking to for advice.
Thanks,

Posts: 49Assholes staying at Hotel Europa
To the assholes who stayed on the 1st floor room by the pool and caused a 3 hour disturbance on Thursday at Hotel Europa , do everyone a favor and don't return. Who the F*ck are you to get jealous over some Sosua girl and break up the room, knock the girl out , knock 3 of your friends teeth out, and bleed all over the lobby of the Europa. It's assholes like you that f*ck it up for everyone else. If you can't handle your booz stay home in NY.
