Could I respectfully suggest that in the Low season, and Sosua's slowest month of the year, and an empty street, you'd notice the two cops standing there?

In the High season, before Christmas and the Superbowl, the streets and bars are crowded, and the streets are crawling with cops, but you don't really notice them.

I have been going for years and never seen streets so deserted and chicks so afraid to come. This might explain it. We always talked about cruise ship passengers that never came, but how will Pedro fit in with putas and these new hotels:

Stop through last weekend. I had a drink at bourbon during the day. Streets empty with zero action and two women police standing out in front of bourbon. Never seen it controlled like that. Did not appear to just be talk, but action. Classico was crowded at night, but quality way down. What am I missing.

Did not appear to just be talk, but action. Classico was crowded at night, but quality way down. What am I missing.

The absolute worst months to visit Sosua (if there is one) are August and September. These are the slowest moths of the year. Last couple of years they really use this period to flex their muscles. Come November the streets will be back to normal and police will slack off and let that holiday money start flowing again.

For example, if the mayoress says so and so, we think she actually means it, or has a personal interest or inner intention to follow through or has an agenda or a plan. Indeed? It may be just expedient or viewed nicely in the eyes of her bosses or constituents. Ok, there is a meeting, bla-bla-bla, water and cookies served. When the meeting on this particular topic is held it does not necessarily mean all the participants and organizers are genuinely behind the idea.

Many people have said business as usual, but they want to end prostitution on Pedro and city center of Sosua. That is a big change and they are doing it now:

On Friday 6 September a meeting was held with the business people of Sosúa in the main hall of the town hall. In particular, the meeting was intended for those business people who run a hospitality business in the main street, Pedro Clisante.

Present were Jean Alain Rodríguez, Attorney General of the Republic and Ilana Neumann, the mayor of the municipality of Sosúa. The mayor said that more than a year ago the everyone received a resolution in which hospitality business people were given a year to move their business to the end of the Pedro Clisante or to change it. So change the bar to a restaurant for example. The mayor announced that she would soon implement the resolution. The idea is that prostitution will disappear from the center of Sosua. The mayor also said that it is not intended to harm business people. But with these measures Sosua becomes more attractive for family tourism and for tourists who come for the nightlife.
