Perhaps it was, but then people were coming down to Sosua blind and all making the same mistakes on their first and second trips. Now, with complicated smart phone comes access to forums such as this, which greatly enhance the experience for newbies such as myself, thanks to you and the path you've trodden ahead of me.

Actually, I regret explaining myself to you. Your handle is quite apt. It's people like you who put off newbies from posting reports. You may be absolutely correct and I may have been bang out of order for posting the pic, face or no face, but would it have been so difficult for you to write "Taking, and certainly posting, pictures without permission is inappropriate. I suggest you email admin to remove it and would advise against doing it again"?

Surely, one of the main objectives of this forum is for newbies to learn, often from their mistakes?! Not to come on here and get a roasting after investing a considerable amount of time posting a trip report.

My cell phone charger overheated on the plane and won't work now. Any suggestions where I can buy an authentic Samsung or quality third party fast charger in Sosua? Standard chargers don't seem to work with my phone.

I specifically didn't post a picture of her face. There is no way anyone could identify her from that picture.

I did. Her name is Rita and she used to be a stripper in El Consulado. Let go for selling weed and not cutting in the management.

Since you have USD on you, have a motochocho take you to Western Union (if you are in Sosua by now). They (Western Union) have pretty good rates.

If anything, ask other mongers that you bump into to point you to the best ATM location to withdraw pesos.

Nice Report so far. Looking forward to reading the rest. I have a question for you. I normally stay in Hotel Platino when I visit Santiago. I did stay at Matum once but didn't take a woman to my room. I've gotten different answers to this question on other boards, but what is the chica policy at Matum? Did you have to pay extra for your girl or did you make the reservation for 2 with her name on it?

Made a reservation for two people. Only had to put my name on the reservation. When I arrived, they asked us both to write our names down, didn't check her cedula. Saying that we checked in together, which is different to checking in then rocking up an hour later with a chica.

There is a small mall where Orange is just down from Baileys, and there was a small store where this guy had a butt load of chargers. Don't know if he is still there, but its worth a try.

One of the reasons I didn't ask her to stay another day. I'm a pretty grounded guy, but we're all human at the end of the day and didn't want to take a risk.
