Actually Sosua is commonly (Goodle search) considered among the top 10 sex destinations.

But, why quibble when the next is Manila, or Pattaya.

I do not tend to hear that (The sky is falling) from any of my expat friends. That seems to generate from guys who only vacation in the DR / Sosua. Many of us think what ever is going on is entertaining. For me, I may live in Sosua, but I'm not consumed with chasing pussy every moment, every day. I actually have a life here beyond chasing after women. And for the record, everything about Sosua is NOT a brothel. And as far as pussy is concerned, there are plenty of options outside of Sosua, and nearby. I do not have to travel around the world, or across the country just to get laid. Travel is for exploring, learning and enjoying. Mongering for me, is just an added bonus, if I choosesto partake.

Most of the guys I know personally who live in the US, they are the ones hearing rumors and sending messages wondering what is going on in Sosua. They are wearing their friends out with their concerns, requests for information and updates. Wondering if they should waste money on a ticket / hotel etc. Meanwhile, me and my expat friends arent concerned in the least. To tell you the truth, it's actually kinda sad for us as grown men to be so concerned about shit like this. Before I even lived down here, I always made sure to establish contacts / regulars so I would not have to rely on the strip. I know some guys that know me, think that just because I live in Sosua, it's all I know. But once you start living here instead of vacationing, your perspective about managing your life and your priorities will change.

Another way of looking at this from a chicas perspective: an airplane full of horny dudes rolls in just about every weekend. They are going to want a place to stick their dicks (you have to remember that probably 90% of guys traveling to Sosua do not visit this (or any) forum, so they still think Sosua is in full swing). 100 guys; 10 chicas. Less chicas there means they can charge more because where are you going to go? What other options do you have? You didn't drop all that money on airfare and hotel just to sit around with your dick in your hand all weekend, did you?

I can see a 6 asking for and getting $100 in this kind of environment.

What you are saying has merit. I don't think every chica sees the crackdown the same way we would. I have heard a number of chicas claim they wanted 3000 or more, just for an hour. And I spoke to several mongers who said chicas told them the same. So a chica claiming to want $100 US does not surprise me at all. And that's not necessarily the dimes out of Classicos either. I think what's happening, enough chicas think they need to get as much as they can out of one client to make up for the drop in customersl, and reduced hours they have to score a client. Especially at night.

Thats not to say, mongers arent seeing 1000 to 1500 deals from desperate chicas. It's just that a number of chicas aint budging from their higher expectations of getting paid. And that's likely because they have a goal of how much they intend to make in a day or a week. And if they can't get as many clients as usual, that may be why enough won't budge from 3000 + for ST. The other thing is, along with many regular dudes coming, there are still new guys coming to Sosua for their debut as well as the return of recent mongers that are now addicted to Sosua.

The chicas haven't sunk their teeth deep enough into these guys yet. So as far as chicas are concerned they can adapt to current conditions somewhat, and try to make up for it from the new guys who have a ton of loot to spend. In some instances, chicas try to use the crackdown to gain sympathy from mongers in order to get business. The apparent problem is, chicas have a lot of competition with other chicas for customers.

Bourbon Street restaurant is one of the primary hangout spots now. A lot of chicas who are willing to pay for a few drinks, come to sit a while. Thing is, many sit for hours hoping to get a client. One thing I noticed, some of these chicas kinda have an anti-social look about them. Big difference in attitude than the way chicas behaved when DD Latins was open. Now, many of these chicas are mean mugging or acting like nobody is in the room with them. I guess they are supposed to be demonstrating that they have class, and don't need our business? I don't know.

But it almost seems that enough chicas uniformly decided to keep their eyes front, when walking and / or sitting. And not to engage with anybody unless they are approached or called over. A lot of these chicas don't know. A bad or anti social attitude aint going to boost business. I know a lot of guys would rather invest his money with a 6 or 7 with a nice personailty prepared for taking care of their client, than a 9 or 10 with a stank / stuck up attitude, and have no clue what he's in store for in his spot.

I'm a little late to the party but have been following this thread over there last few hours.

I just returned from an amazing stay in the DR. I'm going back for sure and while I am all but certain I am going back to the same place I am open to ideas.

A lot of this back and forth brings a question to my mind. Some of you are saying that the girls who you would rate as a 6 are charging over $100 for an hour. If you went down there and stayed for a week what is total nut you guys are dropping to hang out in bars and pick up the working girls? Whats a ballpark figure at the end of the week on what you have spent on everything?

From what I gather when I was there on a Tuesday, the less mongers coming to Sosua, the more the chicks that are worth anything will also stay away from Sosua. So if there are no mongers going then all you will be dealing with is scraps. And I have word that those scraps are so hungry that they are asking $100.

For, example in the supermarkets in Sosua, you can buy all kinds of quality products and produce that you can't find in supermarkets in Florida. You can live in a beautiful home in the area and afford domestic help such as cook, housekeeper, gardener for a fraction of the price in the US or Europe. The gorgeous apartment I had in Sosua for $1100 per month could not be matched for double the price in Florida.

That is not what I intended to say. I meant that the principal large and popular bars on Pedro Clissante such as Rumba, Latinos, Classico disco, and so on are bars whole entire business depends on prostitution, and that several of the hotels likewise depend on the same market. Of course there are other places around Sosua where you can get a drink or a hotel room where this does not apply, or not to anything like the same extent.

I lived in Sosua for a couple of years and is is a gross exaggeration to say that the whole town is a brothel. After all it has several schools, several churches, hospitals, restaurants, vetinarians, dentists, supermarkets, car repair stores, hardware stores, pharmacies that don't depend on Viagra sales, and so on. It can also be described as a retirement community.
