Reading through this encyclopedia of Sosua, I noticed that no good story started with Casa Marina all inclusive.

But I've read too many bad experiences as well from other spots you guys stayed at.

It's not too late to cancel my RSVP for Casa Marina, can you guys recommend a hotel / resort that comes close to a nice all inclusive, I'm looking for good air conditioning, room that has a safe and all the other necessary amenities, and ocean view balcony would be nice too. Basically no grime atmosphere.

Casa Marina replied to me saying I can't bring in guests unless I register them when I book the hotel, the only other choice is to "lose" my wrist band to let a chica wear it, pay for another one for myself and walk right in with her. Did this in Puerto Plata 6 years.

Nah I'm here LOL. Just had to get life back on track before I could sit down and type this all out.

Let me start by saying the trip was great, my birthday is in March and I'm thinking of returning there for it. Love the people there. A couple told me I looked Dominican myself and I was shown nothing but love from mostly everyone I encountered. I loved Casa Cayena and the people there and will always go back there to eat and see the people, but I won't stay there again. I only had low music playing on my cell phone's speaker sitting on the dresser and was told to turn it down. Which is pretty ridiculous, but I didn't mind or try to argue, not a big deal. I met some cool guys just by sitting at breakfast, lunch and on the front steps of the hotel like you guys said. I really like this hotel, but a villa or apartment somewhere close to the Sosua action is more my speed I believe.

I did not enjoy Puerto Plata at all as far as ladies go. So I was only there 2 of the 7 days we went out. The first night we landed late at 10:30 pm, got to their villa in Puerto Plata. Which was a 5 bedroom villa with a walkout rooftop and a great view, it was very nice, but way too far from Sosua for me. We got showered and dressed, and walked to Kviar club. The club had a decent amount of girls in there, I met one I wanted to take home but she said she couldn't go that night, so I got her number for later. We didn't find our girls at the club so we all 5 rode on the back of Motorcycle Taxis to Field of Dreams. It was late, like 2 am or so, but the security guy unlocked the gate and let us in with his shotgun in hand LOL. He started serving drinks and rang something that sounded like a dinner bell to wake the ladies up and let them know we were there. He allowed us to hook up our music and play what we wanted through the speaker system. We were told that it was $90 usd to take a girl to one of the rooms for 2 hours. We hung out with the girls for a short while and my brother and one of our friends decided to take a girl back to get their first time experience out of the way. The rest of us didn't take girls that night and went home.

The next day I checked into Casa Cayena and as I drove into Sosua I immediately started seeing girls working the streets in the daytime. A few girls always hang out at Casa Cayena and I was getting hit on as I checked into my room. I took my things upstairs then went on a little solo stroll through the streets, which is what I wound up doing every day. That night we went to Rumba and wow! I mean, just walking to the club from the hotel I had to turn down about 20 girls. As soon as you get to Pedro Clisante Street its pure mayhem, thousands of girls working every single club, bar, etc on the road and flooding the streets. We went into Rumba and it was packed wall to wall with beautiful women! Honestly my eyes were on so many women I don't remember noticing other guys being the in the room. Same as when I was in Rio, I'd always find myself trying too hard and wasting too much of the night trying to find the best looking girl, and the girl who's showing some active interest in me of course. After a while I looked at all my guys and they all had ladies at the table and were going to be leaving in about 20 minutes or so. The next day we went to Rumba again for a short while and then on to Classico. Classico is fun for the people who like a real night club atmosphere. That became the routine, Rumba and Classico became our nightly go to spots, then down to the Coral Reef Casino's club after Rumba and Classico closed. This night I found my girl in Classico. I was doing my usual indecisive thing like I did every night till I seen all the guys with girls. She had approached me earlier and I told her maybe. And that's my trip. OK, I though you might be a professional photographer. Most people these days use cell phones to take pictures and don't bother with expensive photographic equipment unless they are enthusiasts. Anyway, enjoy your trip.

I come from the third world so, your proposal would not be a serious challenge, though not having Internet might be a hindrance. At least in the beginning, but not having access to women, um, that is a big problem!

Yes, that is a big problem, especially since the place is in Thailand. I'm a bit tempted, just for the cultural experience, but I think there are too many potential issues to go for it.

I guess I never realized that our safety and security depends solely on Billy Bob and Zeke. I always thought spending $600 billion per year on national defense had something to do with it. To think, I spent all that time cruising 400 feet under the ocean, surrounded by enough nuclear firepower to obliterate 25% of the earth's population, when all we needed was a few hundred rednecks with shotguns. I feel cheated.

Last time I checked, the US only borders 2 countries, Mexico, which is probably going to invade us maana, and Canada which only wants the Stanley Cup back. With all the satellites, it's rather difficult to sneak across 4000 miles of ocean with a force large enough to attack a country which accounts for 1/3 of the world's national defense expenditures. Even without the satellites, all Japan could do was us off.

Here's a serious question for the thinking people. If you had the opportunity to spend a week or two in a very remote and primitive area, living with the natives, who are living about the same as their ancestors lived 500 years ago, would you do it?

Other than travel cost, no other cost to you, but you would be living without electricity, internet, phones, running water, etc. Probably serious communication issues and no P4 P opportunities. Friendly people, no safety issues, although probably many health risks. Any takers?(QUOTE).

It is known that Super Weekend is always helter skelter. Every thing is on steroids. The women charge more and are in a desperate hunting mode. Many of the guys are first time weekend warriors. All in all I think you want to avoid Sosua superbowl weekend. The girls see low hanging fruit.
