Taxi ride sharing from Santiago airport

I am landing in santiago at 6:37 pm. I don't think that I will be able to make it to the caribe tours bus station. Based on the schedule the last bus to sosua leaves at 7 pm. I don't mind sharing a taxi if someone here will be on the same flight. I think the price is about $100 from the aiport to sosua.

She said Rumbas knows that Haitians only have passports for identification. She then inform me that she would have to pay $2,500 to the owner of Rumbas in order to come in using her passport. She says the police harassed them more and Rumba would not allow them entry. The streets or paying 200 peso to go inside of Classico is the only way for them to deal with the situation.
Sounds like the mongers picking up girls from the street will benefit from this if it is true.

The Haitian asking you for 2,500 pesos must of thought you where a sucker and found out otherwise in a hurry.

I would low baller her even harder, I would give her 1000 pesos. If can cannot work in Rumbas she is not in the position to be demanding 2500 pesos. She will go hungry.

    Thanks for your advice guys!

Cerebro, Charles Pooter and Guthrie, thanks very much for your great feedback, that's all I needed to reassure me about making my trip! I'll be there in about 10 days and stay for 2 weeks.

Guthrie, is Cabarette itself worth checking out for mongering? I've only been there a couple of times during the day, and all I remember really apart from the lovely beach is the guys trying to hussle me to buy their wares in the main street. Having said that, I remember a couple of cute girls there working in exchange bureaus giving me the eye, which kind of surprised me, since in Sosua this doesn't happen often! Maybe they are less overrun with opportunities than the women in Sosua, and therefore more open to advances? What do you think?

    Happy Hunting.

    Mongerette.
Very interesting, Mongerette. Keep posting if anything interesting happens. It is fascinating to get a completely fresh perspective on the sex for money business, and it would be fascinating to know what kind of satisfaction, if any, you got from it, whether your experiences were enlightening for you, or otherwise.

    Welcome to the board.

Sosua is for guys, and it never hurts a guy to have another girl around who obviously cares for him. It's like a woman has checked him out and he's ok, so now they want him too. I'm sure you are his "chick magnet".

But for you like I said, Sosua is a man's world, and there's not a lot of action for a mongerette (hey, that's a new word you've coined).

Maybe the beach during the day is possible to get some local action, but Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata in Dominican Bars and Restaurants is more action, if Lonely will take you there, or if you are up to exploring on your own.

I have travelled a fair bit with my GF across the Island and I see a lot more female touristas with locals those other areas, than I have in Sosua.

Anyway I'm sure you will figure it all out, and even maybe some other female will join this thread to add a little advice.

It's definitely not fair that Lonely is getting all the action, but of course, you could always join in

We have a rule in our group: "Always Pay. " Inevitably, there will be an issue with some bar owner, taxi driver, or chica over money. The amount in contention is usually small. However, stubbornness gets in the way on both sides, and the potential is there for it to blow up into a big argument. "Always Pay" resolves arguments that potentially might lead to assaults or murders on either side. That's not hyperbole: "American tourist hacked to death by Thai taxi driver over $2 fare" is a real headline from an incident that occurred in Bangkok in 2013 involving an argument over a taxi fare.

There will be plenty of chicas around especially the week before Christmas looking to earn their gift money for back home.

    The ratio is the highest.

I will be there from the 13th to the 27th. I have been there for those 2 weeks for the past 2 years.

The chicas way out number the dudes, so in that respect I think the week before is good.

I stayed in Cabarette and went to Sosua every other night.

Cabarette is crowded on the weekends so Saturday the 26th will be crowded.

The only slow night was the 24th since most small bars / comidas close early.

If you decide to take the trip and you have been there before you will have good time.

I am sorry no-one has responded. They say the best way to get information on bulletin boards is to post an answer. Guys who do not agree or can expand on it will then rush to post. So I hope to start the ball rolling.

December up to the holidays is a very good time. Chicas are anxious to make money for their families and you will see chicas who are not normally on the game. Be aware that it is the peak time for robberies, muggings, etc, so do not take risks at night or in deserted areas.

The actual holidays from December 24th to January 7th are quieter. Less than half as many chicas, and those are the more hardcore professionals, but also less than half as many guys as competition. Local services may try to add a holiday surcharge or private individuals will whinge even harder for tips "for my family".

If you have a choice of dates it would not be my preferred time, but if your commitments mean it is the only time you can make it, not to worry. You can still have a great trip.

No more jokes like that, please!

It is like any where in the world where the main religion is Catholic. It is very busy and festive for the most part of the month. I think is a great month to be in the DR. This is the time that most Dominicans in the US return for vacations and this is the time of the year that most Dominicans like to get drunk and party. You will be just fine. The girls in Sosua and everywhere in the country are trying to make enough money before Christmas so they can buy gifts for the children and family and also buy food for the big dinner. Most will be working hard until the 24th. On the 23th and 24th most will be shopping for gifts and start leaving town in preparation for the big day, Christmas eve the 24th and Christmas day the 25th. The 25th will likely be dead because most girls will be out of town with family, distributing gifts and enjoying family time and dinners. You will find lots of action on the 23th, but less on the 24th and even less on the 25th. The 25th will be harder because many businesses will be closed and it will be a day off that most will have all over the country. Having a list of contacts for the 24th and 25th may come handy. Keep in mind that Sosua is a touristic town so the hotels and restaurants in the area will continue to be opened during those days so opportunities to find chicas will continue to be there, just less less opportunities. After the 25th, the girl will be all broke and ready to work because of all the expenses they incurred when they went shopping and be coming back to Sosua to make money. And all will be back to normal, with lots of activities and festivities because New Years will be coming soon.

I can offer this crap joke as an advanced 'payment' for the helpful feedback I hope to get soon to my last question! OK, here goes, don't be offended my US friends! Q: What do American beer and sex in a canoe have in common? A: They are both fucking close to water!!

I am often asked to share my GF's stable of "cousins", but unless a guy is on Facebook where the chicas can decide for themselves, I take a pass. I try to do my share of sharing, but, like you say, you can have your congeniality taken for granted and life made a little more complicated when it doesn't work out.

Take my next trip, routine usually for me, but because I am taking a buddy this time, I have a chica on my case because she has lined up at least 6 cousins to come to Sosua to meet him, but he got busy and can't decide which or whether he wants them or not, want's to know if they are on Facebook and their names. So a lot of back and forth, language issues, and last minute organizing for everyone involved.

Yep, "he who travels alone travels furthest!
On a very few occasions I have set acquaintances up with very nice girls, but it rarely works out as the chemistry is never there, and the guys don't treat the girls nice, so it just rebounds on me. That is part of the reason why I think mongering in groups is likely to end with tears.
