I'm hearing that Rumba and Premium bar (El Flow) had some tax issues that had to be resolved (tax issues before a busy holiday). Also I'm hearing Big Mommas place (old city lights) has been closed. Rumba is supposed to open when the taxes are paid. Premium, which just opened recently had the old owners name on the tax bill. We will see.

Sosua has been off the radar for me lately as I am headed to Colombia for a week. In reading know that Rumbas was shutdown does not make sense to me at all. Since Latinas has been shut down, Rumbas has been the biggest busiest establishment during the afternoons and evenings and you would think the owners would be on top of paying their taxes to avoid a shutdown and loss of income. Well I guess now Central Bar and the other establishments will reap some benefits from this. I wish Latinos would re-open, it was one of my favorite places on the Strip.

They can close the bars, but if they're not creating jobs the girls still are going to need money. It won't be as easy as walking into rumbas and saying you let's go. But girls are going to be around, Puerto Plata, la onion etc. Things might improve if the hardcore Santo Domingo girls stop coming. Imo.

But the whole PC street corner will be dead.

Now you just need to close Classico and that was the kiss of death for the nightlife in Sosua.

There will be girls around but no nightlife. That's boring if you're there for more than a Weekend.

He probably told her she could get her 15 minutes of fame by saying this and he could get some ass free. Please don't believe everything you read.

Check the timing, right after his team reaches the West finals ( Maximum exposure). Now she will become an "exclusive " meaning her fees are going up. The club charges more because she is there, and everyone pays to see the 100k dollar girl. Guys will be making this incident a topic on international forums etc.

I'm guessing that she actually received a $100 check from him, because now that it's front page news, she's going to have to claim that on her taxes.

It's not unreasonable. A retired stripper friend of mine had a customer buy her a Harley, give her $20 k for the down payment on her house, took her to Australia and Europe, plus lots of domestic travel, shopping trips and money spent on her in the club. He was from out of state and was only in town about 4 days every 2 months. And this was in Albuquerque. Hardly Miami, Houston or Dallas.

When you have that much money you can do things that look insane to others but is totally rational to you. The girls was a 7 or 8 with hot body but I have seen her equal in Sosua for $50, I think he may be gay and is trying to cast doubt. Some times you can not believe your eyes. That is nothing new. No one is condoning but I understand that getting close to a million dollars would tempt most people. He stole from a large company not a mom and pop. To hear morality discussed on this forum is funny. We are guys paying women for sex. How morale is that.

I feel sorry for Rick. I stayed at one of his places almost every time I went to Sosua and got to know him a bit. He's going to lose his business, and he's going to lose his wife, and will never be able to return to the DR again, his life is over. I would agree with what an earlier poster stated he probably did nothing more than what these major corporations are doing with their government contracts.

Why he made himself so visual on the internet and in Sosua with his business knowing he had this hanging over him I'll never know and was stupid in my opinion. There's a lot of Canadians in Sosua and it would take long for one of them to put two and two together and for him to be discovered. If it was me I would of ran farther stayed quitter and been a moving target switching from country to country every few months. It was not smart of him to have been so visual and to have stayed so long in the DR.

I wish him well and hope he can still have some kind of life in Canada after he is released.
