My suggestion is to buy an unlocked phone from the US. Suggest either Best Buy or Amazon. Read the user comments.

Just go to ebay and buy an ATT phone. Orange will unlock it for 400 pesos and 50 pesos for a sim card. For the money sprint is going to charge you for international. Is the price of two ebay cells.

No. Your only option is to call Sprint and pay international roaming to use that 5C in the DR. The Sprint IPhone 5c has a sim card slot used for 4G. I am not sure if that will support a 3G GSM sim and when I talked to Sprint recently they said they do not permit using other carriers sim in their phones which means they wont or cant unlock it easily.

Yeah. I remember it was 90 days before, but with my most recent purchase they gave me the code right away. T-mobile also unlocked a friend's right away last week as well.
