I agree with the guy. You speak Spanish and have a history of putting cops on the defensive and holding them accountable but someone who doesn't speak Spanish and have no understating on how to handle it might get fucked. Maybe not every time but most times IMO. I've heard stories about guys not being at fault and the cops aren't there and a mob gathers wanting to kill the gringo, just ask our boy.

Were injuries involved? From the facts you detailed in your story it does not seem like there were any if you both walked away and you were fucking that night. I'm not taking issue with your first-hand account. But do you actually know the law that is involved when a accident involves bodily injury in the Dominican Republic?

I neglected to mention that it applies to accidents involving an injury, which are common, both because of the high number of accidents involving motorcycles and because people involved in accidents often claim injury as a scam.

This is not my first time here. I have used taxis and Uber, and they are cool. I'm aware of the risks of driving here, and I agree it is not for everyone, but it is a risk that I am willing to take. Again, I agree that this not for everyone, I have seen some crazy shit on these roads.

I don't want to start another big debate on this, but renting a car in the the. Are. Is a horrendous idea for 99 visitors out of 100. The locals drive like lunatics, and if there's an accident, the police will side with locals 100 times out of 100, in which case the driver can be detained for days, weeks, or even months.

Uber and even taxis are dirt cheap, as are the inter-city bus companies. Use them.

This is not my first time here. I have used taxis and Uber, and they are cool. I'm aware of the risks of driving here, and I agree it is not for everyone, but it is a risk that I am willing to take. Again, I agree that this not for everyone, I have seen some crazy shit on these roads.

I arrived here in Santo Domingo Saturday, and rented a car for the first time. I now understand the mobility that it provides. Driving around has been a breeze so far. I did get pulled over by the police yesterday on avenida Espana on my way to Juan dolio, but I just spoke English only, and was on my way. I didn't pay them a dime. ...

I come to ISG seeking information. I really don't care about other peoples's preferences or advice. I want to know where the ho's at and how much they cost. Another great weekend in SD. To me it is a better place to get a semi pro or a girl acting like she is not a pro LOL. I have been coming here for some time now and have a nice little roster that I update frequently. I wouldn't say it's a great mongering destination even though there are options here. Sosa is the best place for that in the DR. But if you are willing to make some connections, learns some Spanish and be mobile you can get a nice bang for your buck. Because even though they will act like they want something serious and they may even like you or be attracted to you, they want the money at the end of the day. Just how the culture is set up here and many other places. So you have to use it to your advantage. Anyway here is some pics of the weekend. I drove around Saturday night and saw the usual hookers on Pasteur, but I didn't stop. I'll probably rent a car from now on when I'm here. Apartment via airbnb for the price of a good hotel room, car, fine novia, and other action when I want it is perfect for me.
