You can buy a Claro cell phone on Avenida 30 de Marzo, that is the main Claro shop. I bought a ZTE brand cell phone there for 495 pesos (with minutes included). You can also bring along your cell phone from the States and ask them about a chip for that phone (bring your passport if you buy a cell phone or chip there). This Claro shop is just north of the Foreigners Club Hotel on the other side of park independencia, the Claro shop is on the google map for sdq, you can use Boricua Online's map to view the location better: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0...mid=1246199584

The chica said she lives in San Pedro de Marcoris? On a a gua gua, Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Marcoris is at least 90 minutes. The last gua gua back to San Pedro de Marcoris from Santo Domingo is around 9pm at night. Some gua guas from San Pedro de Marcoris let off passengers near Park Independencia. The other place they let off passengers and get passengers is near Avenida Mexico, just north of Zona Colonial.
If you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls store near where you live, those stores sell regular sized, name brand perfumes from 10-25 dollars. A 15-20 dollar perfume is not a bad gift to give a chica.
On El Conde (near the large Art School) about one block from Hard Rock Cafe is Siegfredo Zanetti Espresso bar, inside that bar they have the "Beds". A place with about 12 large beds, where you can lounge and have drinks with your chica. Drink prices are about the same as hard rock cafe.

I bought this map at Amazon for around 11 dollars, it is laminated so you can get it wet without it falling apart. It has details of the larger cities including Santo Domingo, Santiago and I believe Puerto Plata.

If you are comfortable and happy staying at the La Casona Dorada, that is good. Good advice, to put valuables in that hotel's safety deposit box. The location of that hotel is good. I know the large colmado on the corner, usually there is a small table outside with chairs and I believe I saw guys playing dominos there. Lots of people walking around or waiting on gua guas on Avenida Independencia there.

Jaosousa you always have great advice and if I didn't have a history at La Cosana Dorada I would be following it. I hope to get to meet up with you sometime, as I have never been to Sosua, I don't believe we have meet before or maybe we have, sometimes I get very drunk.
