Its on a corner, well lit up, close to Crystals near the ocean. Its fairly well know, I'm sure the taxi drivers can find it.

Curry,
There is a El Bohem in Puerto Plata, similar to Remington palace not as many ladies. Beautiful ladies but there is a Salida.

Hotel Gatreaux is cheap, ok folks and girl friendly, but alittle claustophobic for me.
Bests!

Hola, JWadd here from the Brasilian board. I'll be the D.R. (probably Santo Domingo -- but not sure) at the very end of this month for a few days. Anyone interested in hooking up give me a shout out.
I'm an old hand at this thing around the world but a first-timer in the D.R. Give a search for some of my pics over in the Brasil section.
Peace out,
JW

The status of this hotel has been reported in both directions. I have stayed here about 15 times. I have never ever been stopped or questioned here. They have never ask a girl who was "on my arm" for anything. I usually have a car and park in the underground garage. Use the back steps to the lobby and head straight for the elevators. This does not require a trip by the front desk. If you bring in a street girl who is dressed like one, yes, you might have a delay.

This said they will either let you in or take the chica card and make the registration, if the latter happens prepare to argue the day after in order not be charged, as the room has been booked as double.
That said, is a wondeful place to be, it is reasonably girlfriendly and the breakfast is unbeatable.
Ask a room far from the air conditioning engines as they are quite noisy.
Enjoy

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have any idea if nightlife shuts down between Xmas and New Years?
Or is it business as usual in SDQ?

Are they girl friendly? Are they close to the night life?

Posts: 47Thanks. I figured Orbitz had the wrong information.
So it looks like I'll be staying at the Intercontinental. I've read different things about it being chica friendly, which to me indicates as long as you don't bring back a 50 peso ***** you should be okay.

Posts: 36I'm a newbie and have taken a few hits on some ill-advised posts. But I will risk it again. Couldn't there be a separate thread for hotel/airfare posts? Half the board seems to be hotel-related.
And an outright lock plus a public shaming for posting in the photo gallery w/o photos?

Posts: 1547No Pool at Mercure, just the lobby with its restaurant, bar and the rooms. Good for our mongering business , best deals on room prices if you book directly on their webpage.

Hi guys,
A quick question: Does the mercure have a pool? I seem to think not from reading past posts and no pictures on the website, but orbitz says yes.
I'll be in SDQ via STI next weekend and wanted to book either the Intercontinental or Mercure.
Thanks,
MC
