Oh, ok, I never had problems with Uber like some people report except the time a guy charged over 70 k in Medellin because he do not close the ride. I complained and it was corrected to 12 k.

Why I love SD:

Uber. Love it. Airport trips and getting around town isn't a rip off battle.

Hardly any hustlers on the streets anywhere in SD.

WiFi everywhere. Didn't really feel the need to be "connected" all the time.

Spanish in the DR is easier to understand than Cuban spanish.

The location is quite perfect as it is close to the action and tourists who want to look at ocean.

I can confirm that the casino is way better than what we can see in Boca Chica. I visited bc Fri. And sat night and was deeply disappointed. Swimming and water related activities can be done in bc, but chicas are not good looking at all. If you visit for mongering activities, stay in Santo Domingo. Unless it has been changed recently, you can go to an immigration office and pay for an extension. There is one of these offices in Puerto Plata, but not in Sosua. Obviously there will be one in Santo Domingo.
