Gents, just a few notes my Santo Domingo trip (12/28-12/30 & 1/5-1/7). As you've read, it's an untapped promised land. Unreal amount of talent! Me, decent Spanish, and my two boys, no Spanish, all had a blast. P4 P and free during the 4 nights there. All of us in our early 40's.

Uber worked great all over town. At the airport they will pick you up on the second floor. No issues with payment via linked CC.
