The country has actually impressed me. They've done much better than so many other countries.

Welcome, I live in Zona Colonial and I love it. It has a pedestrian mall called El Conde that is great for walking or just hanging out. It has several nice parks to hangout and people watch while sipping a beer. Park Colon, park Cervantes and park Enriquez are all good to post up during the day. The malecon is lively and the hotels are nice with the casinos and live music. Plus you don't need a car for any of this, it's all within a 15 minutes walk. The street tricks are full of games but sometimes you find a new gem on El conde but be careful. Pacos, Fenix, Segazona and Romas are good spots to have a drink, or meal. All in Zona Colonial.

The problem with Zona Colonial is that accommodations has gotten expensive now that tourism is up. In the middle of the shut down I rented my penthouse for 850 usd a month. Now as tourism is increasing the same penthouse has gone up to 1300 usd a month. I'm not paying that much so I went to Gasque, which is next to Zona Colonial and found something more reasonable.

The area you are staying in is very nice. Blue mall is the upscale mall, mega central is the local mall but farther away. I like Agora and Sambil they are also not far from you.

Tinder I can't comment on because I don't need it but I've used it in the past for other countries so maybe it will work for you.

Depending on how long the Pandemic lasts and when Asia fully opens up (and Thailand may never really be the same) I predict that Zona Colonial will be all super high end condos and Hotels only. I do know a guy who's staying there and found a deal through a real estate agent but you can pay half the price in Gazcue or Buena Vista even Piantini is cheaaper than the Zone.

That being said being able to walk down to Paco's or the Cigar bar on the opposite end and snatch up a newbie making her el conde debut and whisking her back to your spot is life on easy mode. Gazcue is kinda it's own eco system you can go down to the malecon and do the same thing but it's not the same as El Conde.

To the average weekend warrior and especially a new guy I'd stay in an hotel or Airbnb as close to El Conde as possible and branch out to Gazcue, Buenavista, Piantini and El Million as you gain experience and develop your rotation. It's quite possible to find a chica on El Conde who will gladly hook you up with dozens of Chicas who live in Las Americas and San Chirstobal. In fact with experience you can breakfast at Paco's and catch the Day shift of Maid / hookers coming right off the bus from San Christobal.

I signed up on Dominican Cupid yesterday and man it just blew up. A lot of profiles marked "new" with gorgeous gorgeous girls so trying to see if some are real or scam. I will definitely take your advice and visit Zona. I just want to relax and unwind and have some fun with a few girls and actually take in some sites. Have a day excursion planned as well. Airbnb and uber make SD very easy to function. The Zona Colon is Ok but it has all the tourist traps. For 60 bucks I can get a nice appartment with a gym and pool in the city. You should visit the zona colon to see you are not missing much. There restaurant called Grands top of zona always 3 or 4 girls there working Good place to post up. Aiways some expatrs posted. It is on google maps for Uber access. SD street walker are nothing to write home about. Your location is just find. I would reccommend using intenret hook ups in SD. I personally do not like casas but to each his own. Ignor Mr E he is a legend in his own mine. His claim to fame is finding girls he can bang for 1000 pesos less the 20 bucks. Visit the malls Sambill my favorite. Lots of eye candy. Jaraqua Casino has girls and live entertainment on some nights.

Sorry about that. Yes. In my opinion you made a bad choice. When chicks find out you are staying there then they will want more money simply on the basis that you are staying in that area. Also, whenever you want to go somewhere you are going to have to deal with hella traffic. Maybe you had your place booked before you read that people from this site tend to stay closer to Zona Colonial or maybe you need to stay in Piantini for other reasons. Right now at midnight on Satudrday night google maps shows it is 16 minutes from Piantini to Zona Colonial. During the day it is subject to take from 40 minutes to 1 hour. Whenever I consider staying in that area I pinch myself and say fuck that. I always rent a car and have no desire to sit in that traffic whenever I want to go somewhere or head back to homebase.

Well you got to make the best of it now. Piantini is a nice upscale area. You can always catch an Uber or Indriver (get the app) for 150-250 pesos to Zona Colonial and hang out. Try to time your taxi rides around rush hour to not waste time sitting in traffic.

I've been living in Santo Domingo most of my life.

- In Dominican Republic, prostitutes are not that organized and they don't do it for a living, most girls always find a guy that help them a little and that's all these girls need, these girls don't starve.

- There are like 3 name brothels in Santo Domingo Right now: foxys, casa teresa, Oasis (near foxys), all about $110ST. All others open and close randomly.

- If you are staying in Santo Domingo, try to stay in Zona colonial (is a little secure) and don't bring girls to your hotel. Use their place.

- Skokka works great with escorts, These are not that expensive, (don't pay over $60 for ST), ask them how many shots, how much time, what positions, etc).

- I don't recommend anyone to picking-up street walkers in Santo Domingo, please avoid it.
