The Metro basically runs up and down Maximo Gomez which is a long way from GBP. To the best of my knowledge the Metro does not stop near any P4P points of interest. As a matter of fact the Metro does not stop at any "tourist" points of interest.

When the Metro was designed it appears it was intended for use by Dominicans, which is a good thing. Outside of Zona Colonial, Malecon, Gascue, and a few other spots that is all there is for tourists to do in Santo Domingo. Most tourists never make it outside of Zona Colonial.

I can think of plenty of days when I have seen less than a dozen tourists walking the streets of SD.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Some chicas are miserable if they don't eat their scheduled meals. I can go the whole day without eating (I prefer to eat late in the evening), some of those chicas, if they don't have breakfast, lunch and dinner, brujas (witches).

I went into a Nacional Supermarket that was on the corner of Avenida 27 de Febrero and another street. I parked outside, they had curbside parking where you park diagonally to the street. Big nice supermarket. They had a section with hot food, smelled good.

That is the one, 27 de Febrero and Lincoln.

Purchase your ticket at the ticket booth. It is a two part ticket. One part you surrender to enter the gate and the second part you surrender at your destination.

Take the Metro to the Villa Mella station, the last stop. The ride is about 20 minutes and 20 pesos each way. At Villa Mella there isn't much, if anything, to do. Enjoy a cold drink and a tostado before you head back.

Take the Metro back to the Jaoquin Balaguer station. Close to the Balaguer Metro station is a Polo Victorina, Nacional Supermarket, ATM, and quite a few other spots. Do a little shopping to fill the frig and feed the chicas.

Walk down Gomez to Avenida Independencia and catch a publico back to Gascue or Zona.

For the adventurous, this is an option other than walking El Conde again.

Other than Manolos and Grands(Pacos) there is another 24 hour eatery on 30 de Mayo just before you get to 27, Barra Payan.

Adrian Tropical in the Malecon, almost in front of La Parada bar is open 24 hours too, their solomo steak tastes very good. A 10 minute walk from Jaragua going west.

With the exception of guys who have been coming to SD for a long time what you posted is pretty accurate. I know it wasn't a typo but how in the world some chica thinks she can get $300 US unless her asking price was for the entire week.

Other note: I am taking this rental car back.

A rental car is something you need but actually something you can do without. Last trip I had a rental in the beginning of my trip and at the end. The days I did not have a car I really did not miss it. In Zona and Gascue most places are easy enough to walk to.

I try not to drive at night. At night a $RD150 taxi and a Presidente in your hand is the way to go. The publicos at $RD15 can also be some fun transportation.

If you go back to GBP take a cab and when returning walk out to Lincoln and take a publico to Independencia. Catch another publico on Independencia to take you right back to Jaragua. Total cost less than $1US and a good way to see a little more of the city.

Since you are staying a Jaragua Hotel/Casino you can easily walk to La Cedna supermarket. It is a very small supermarket but it has all the basics. Walk out the rear parking lot and cross Independencia. Walk one block up Hinos Delinge and make a right at the first block (Casimiro Nunez). Walk two short blocks to Cervantes and the market is right on the corner.

Only spot I could not get the chica down was Foxy's and 360. 360 and Foxy's girsl were not better looking but were drastically overpirced. I had one in 360 that flat out asked me for 300US. After I stopped laughing I got in my car and left.

What you guys think of my pricing structure. I know im paying way more than I would have if I had went to Sousua and Perto Plata. I just want to make sure im in the Market.

Saying that their insureance did not cover the car. WTF? They said that they had to see the police report where it explicitly says the driver was at fault. Thats some BS.

arrived sdq noon thursday 23rd. after getting luggage they have this long runway with people on both sides waiting. its the closest i'll get to being a celebrity. at the end of the runway i saw a guy holding an advertisement for gogo taxi. my stupid ass smiled thinking someone sent a taxi for me. the problem with that is no one knew when i was coming. passed gogo taxi and negoitiated a 35 dollar cab ride to palacio. i tried to write directions down, ocean on left, past naval academy. then he went thru this maze of one way, over the hill, do a you-turn streets. arrive palacio 1pm. great hotel, nice owner, courteous employees but the ancient desighn combined with modern technology is amazing. well worth 62 per night. went to el conde then the park to people watch.(damn i'm writing this as i travel metro sd-sos and all these fine chicks just got off in santiago, it looked like a fashion show leaving)anyway left the park and got a call from jaosousa. hooked up with him and he gave me the tour. stopped at 360, gdp, la prada, lapus etc. club 360 had ten girls mostly 7-9 in looks. cuba libre was 150 pesos, girls had great attitude and the owner was helpful. girls were quoting me 3000pesos tln, jazmine was my favorite she kept wearing my sunglasses and looked like j-lo. jaososua kept entertaining the girls with his latin dancing. we left 360 and went to gdp. six girls dressed in hula hula outfits. all were fine but it was an ok looking one playing the back. claudia, 6 feet in heels light skinned, great body but the lips seemed to mesmerize me. presidente beer was 100 pesos, claudia quoted me 5 mil pesos tln(what)then dropped to 4mil (what). jaosousa and i stayed an hour danced, drank and enjoyed the eye candy. then we went to eat and back to 360 for a refill. j and i hooked up with a couple new york boys and went to a club. it had a 300 pesos cover and it was packed. i asked a waitress where the ladies bathroom was, and she looked at me crazy and pointed left. see if the club is packed i post up outside the female rest room because they have to [CodeWord140], i see them coming and going. jaososua had a girl coming to meet him at the club, so this was my chance to street hunt around the jaragua casino limits. being a sosua veteran 3mil is not even in my vocabullary. my last sd trip i got a street walker with teachers glasses at 1am for 1500 pesos. i caught a cab to the girls house but fuck that place. i had a dead fish from there two years ago. walked past gh and hung a left at the corner. a fat chick walked up, smiled and introduced herself. her fat ass wanted 3mil on the streets. i walked another 200 yards and i couldn't believe my eyes. it was the teacher girl from two years ago. i asked her to stick out her tongue (she has a 6 inch tongue)and that verified it was her. she wanted 3mil tln so we exchanged numbers so she could be an option later. i walked another 1oo yard and i see a siloute in the darkness of this long haired beautiful from the back. when i get 10 feet from her she turns toward me and its a dude. i stumble as i change directions quickly. i go to la prada now this is where the night gets good. no cover, cuba libres 259 pesos, and girls everywhere. shit they even had a stripper pole that the girls were working hard. i started tipping the girls 100 pesos notes each. next thing i know i'm getting a double lap dance. i started buying them drinks and they said the price dropped to 3mil after midnight. so i went back to the streets and unknowingly walked right into lapus. i see three chicks dancing on the stage so i sit down. suddenly 7 chicks surround me, i say"estoy tranquillo"and all the sudden i got 14 titties in my vecinity. talking about being speechless. i pick maria, she says 3mil, then the dj says its 1am and they are closing. i'm ready to make a final counter offer when all the girls run in the back like they have a curfew. i leave lapus realizing i just struck out in santo domingo. so i called my teacher glasses girl, no answer. i quickly hop a cab to gdp, claudia is gone but she has other girls for 3-4 mil. at this point i'm like"fuck santo domingo"i'm going to catch the 7am metro for sosua. don't get me wrong i'm no cheepo, but over paying doesn't guarantee great service. i've had 1000 pesos girls that fuck me night and morning very well and i give 2500 for a job well done but la capital got game.

You. And the unlucky renters. Should ask about the credit they used, and what the terms of the car rental insurance protection is. And whether there is such protection. And if there is such protection, whether that protection applies to the Dominican Republic. Some card companies limit the protection based on the number of days the car is rented, or the time of year. You have confirm all of the terms and conditions and you shouldn't assume the terms and conditions don't change from month to month. Sorry to hear about what happened. In case you haven't already, you should get your friends to dispute the charge. If nothing else, it could give them more time to pay the fee before the interest starts to kick in.

Prtyr2 and Helpmann you guys make me feel like the new kid on the block. I really enjoyed my little visit. I stopped by first and chit chatted with Australia to get the info. I told her I would be back in an hour. I drove around the corner to I believe it was Calle Moca. I found a nice colmado and drank me a cold Prez. I ordered a grande to go and went back to get my chica of the day.

No doubt I will return, and sooooon!

One more thing, when I got back to the casa Australia greets me outside and holds my hand when we walk in like I some little kid she doesn't want to get lost. Australia is the type of person that can make you feel comfortable as soon as you meet her.
