Intercontinental is not at $250 per night, you can book from $80-100 plus taxes on their website.
Riazor is like 60 per night and Mystik is 50 and are near the clubs. Mystik is just in between Sky House and Girl House and is used as short term motel by these clubs but the have daily rates too.

Posts: 21Chicas Friendly Hotel near Intercontinental?
Rather than staying in the old town (at the Palacio, or the Mercure) , would any one know of a chicas friendly hotel near the Intercontinental? I was told you can bring a friend at the Intercontinental, but a room at $250 per night is just too expensive. It seems there is a lot of action near Ave independencia and the Malecon, especially when the clubs close.

I was charged 1300 pesos (30 USD) for 1 liquor and 2 beers at Casa Teresa; don't go there!
Best bets are Girls house and next door Sky High. The latter is quiet but the chicas are not as sticky as Girls house's and bebidas are cheap (e.g., 120 pesos for a beer).

I have spent until 3 am reading as much as possible from Ford and some of the others here which I appreciate. I am wondering why "you have to work harder in SD" for women. It is the biggest city with the most possiblities it appears. Can you explain? Thanks

The cheapest rate for Hotel Mercure is $63 per night, taxes included, and free breakfast. This rate is an online special when paid in advance with a no refund policy.

Hotel Mercure is centrally located and a good choice for a first time visit to Santo Domingo. Just keep in mind you need to work a little harder to find the chicas in Santo Domingo than you would in Sosua or Boca Chica.

I am going to Santo Domingo in 5 days and I am planning to stay preferably on El Conde or at least 2 blocks away. A balcony view towards el conde would be nice but not a priority. What I need to know is which is girl friendly. Can anyone help please.

Last trip I noticed they carved out a beach just outside the airport on the route to SD. Not sure how much use it gets, but it's still worth the extra distance to go fully to Boca Chica.

In Santo Domingo there is no beach. The closest beach is in Boca Chica ( approximately 20 miles away from Santo Domingo) or Juan Dolio.
