I thought it was their car, but turned out to be a rental. 9 times out of 10, if a Domimican chick does not have a car then she does not know how to drive anyway. Most of the chicks I know that don't have cars are even scared to drive. The chick could have just been flexing for the gram.
Posting a picture does not mean shit. At least ask her about it before believing it is her car, even if she wrote my new car next to it. That is some women shit to see something and start assuming. I have a picture of me, my daughter, and my grandkids when they were born on my facebook. You know how many non-American women have seen that and talked slick believing it was my wife and kids without simply asking who is that in the picture with you. Don't assume; get it from the horse's mouth.

In the DR you can drive away in a new or new-er car with very little money down because the dealer holds the title until it is paid off or the most likely scenario is they miss a payment and the dealer takes the car back.

Same with real estate, this is why the big developers offer financing, they are hoping that you default on the loan so they can take the property back.

The Dominican Government was smart. They allowed tourists while having a curfew. They knew mongers would come anyway. Just like mongers will flock to Columbia when they allow international flights.
Everyone predicted a drop in chica prices because of COVID what they didn't count on was demand. I mongered stateside for years economically it made far more sense to monger at home until it didn't. It's not just mongers there's "red pill refugees" who don't think they're mongers who paid for that SUV.
Trip.

It's true, So-Sewer has the same curfew as the rest of the country. There was a proposal floated by health officials today to impose a one-week 24/7 lockdown in Santo Domingo, Santiago, and possibly other locations where infections rates are especially high. It would have devastating impact on the tourism sector.

Many Dominican women ply their wares in the smaller islands of the Caribbean.

I have a buddy who had a partner with a casa de cambio in gazcue. They offered me 3,000 per month return on 100 k in dollars.
One year and I can get my 100 k back or stay in. Pretty sure that was their game as the real money behind the cambio, hotel and other DR businesses was the brother in New York.

Relatives feel slighted if they don't receive some sort of token gift from abroad. It is sometimes something as useless and readily available locally like a bottle of Jergens lotion or tubes of Colgate toothpaste. The money lenders fund everything from airline tickets to cash to throw around at discos and rental car agencies. Believe it or not, some of them still operate as "travel agencies" in Dominican neighborhoods. The rates are of course rapacious. It's hard to get unsecured credit at fair rates with a spotty or non existent credit record or a low wage job.

I should have been clearer. What is there for typical dominicans? Civilized and desperate dominicans are not a great combination.
