I don't know why you have to try to make a clandestine journey in from PR I'd be surprised if they took just a Passport card but they might but that's usually for cruise guests who are doing a stopover and even most of them pull out a passport.

Santo Domingo has plenty of women but no central place to fine them. If you like casas (I do not) they range in price and quality. Most charge over 100 short term. The low budget casas are as nasty as can be. We are talking old dirty couches. When 1st started going to SD I used Dominican cupid combined with whatsapp to vet. I had great success. Hilariously, I ended up unintentionally following this route, almost exactly, but after first hitting a massage girl on El Conde the first day. Here's my trip report, spoiler alert, yes, almost all $6 k all the time for on-premises banging:

3 nights each at Jaragua and then 3 nights at Hodelpa San Nicolas de Ovando. Spent nearly all my time in / around the colonial zone, as this was my first time to Santo Domingo, and didn't really feel the need to venture out.
