Car must show a pass to get in, otherwise you need to proceed to the reception, where you need to show a accomadtion reservation (or an event invitation, as MrE said). Lots of airbnb to get inside. But you need a reservation to get in. You can't just pay for one day and then stroll around.

Casa de Campo runs exactly the same way than 'Punta Cana Resort' gated area. This resort group owns all the area between the Punta Cana village, Playa Blanca till Cap Cana marina, including the Cana and Corales villas and golf, Tortuga Bay hotel (a must, if you have deep pockets), Westin Inn, playa blanca, and even owns the Punta Cana airport, which is the biggest international private airport of the world. Only difference is that you can buy there a one day pass to stroll around, and have lunch and beach afternoon with your sweetie at playa blanca.

Conclusion: Go there only acompanied (and I should say with a 9 or 10, well dressed and mannered.). For sure both worth it, as you'll stay in one of the most beautiful environment. It has a price though.
