The chicas came and yes they were much bigger than their pictures. They banged them and Friend-A gave his chica 3,000 pesos but Friend-be gave his chica 4000 pesos. Friend-A is mad at Friend-be becuz he gave 1000 more pesos, and his chica was made that the other got paid more than her. So everyone is mad.

Going to be in Santo Domingo from 2/18-2/21, and was hoping to just get some pointers for the overall scene.

I went there yesterday. There was one slightly overweight girl probably in her mid 20's with bright red hair sitting in a chair in the lobby of the "Plaza". She did not even look up at me. And there were a bunch of young guys chatting away. As I left, I saw a gorgeous chica in the Salon de Belleza, but she was not interested in talking to me. My guess is that she is not in play. Thank you. I appreciate the clarification. Sounds like a place I'll be checking out. The nights I'm in the Courtyard, 16 -18, it will be awkward to get a chica to my room. I need to keep my social life on the down low from my colleagues who will also be staying at the Courtyard those same nights. It seems GBP may be a good solution to making sure my social life stays private. Are there similar type bars not far from Courtyard Marriott that might be good to check out as well? There are many casas in Sto Domingo where you can get away from your colleagues and discretely get laid. I am not into casas, but almost every cab driver will try to take you to Casa Theresa (the drivers get a commission). I have been there a few times and found it to be much higher quality than GBP. It has a bar where you can sit and drink, but is is essentially a brothel. It isn't discussed here so much because the cost is somewhere on the order of 5-6000 DOP for short time. GBP gets discussed a lot here because it is inexpensive; GBP is a brothel, not a bar. There were (and probably still are) a couple of brothels around Ortega why Gasset or Av Pasteur, not so far from the malecon. Of course, you can always pick up a streetwalker on the malecon and go to a motel for sex. The chicas on the malecon are mostly chubby and ugly but about 10% are actually quite cute.

If you are looking for a bar with available girls (and not a casa), there is a very active scene on Av Venezuela, and while the girls there are not full time hookers, there are plenty of chicas willing to go to a motel with a rich gringo for a few hours. I like to go there from time to time, but one must be VERY careful there. It is a high crime scene. It's the area where David Ortiz got shot (he was shot in the Dial Bar and Lounge). You will be OK as long as you do not offend anyone. It is best to go with a wing man who knows what he is doing there, but if you speak some Spaniish and like a little spice in your life, I recommend it. Be careful of what you order. I once did not have enough money to pay my bar bill (I thought I had ordered a glass of scotch, but in fact, I had purchased a bottle of Johnny Walker Red), and the bouncer (who was the size of Al Horford) was ready to beat my head into stone wall when my taxi driver intervened and paid the bill.

Cab drivers can be extremely helpful in Sto Domingo, and if you get to know a good one well, they will actually help you pick up non pros on the street, in restaurants and in malls and semi pros in bars. My driver is amazing: if you tell him what you want. But he is about double the cost of an Uber. On the other hand, he saved my life on Av Venezuela and I have driven with him for 15 years. I owe him the higher prices, and I get really good service. I am happy to share his name (Rey) and contact # with anyone who is interested, but be aware that his prices are higher than most.

Warning, on some nights the girls are very attractive (or there is at least one good looking chica) and on others, the girls are all somewhat unappealing. In general, if you meet one that you like, she will give you her phone number and you can make plans outside the bar for a very reasonable price (I once convinced a girl to do TLN with me for about 2000 DOP. The night was so good that I paid her $100 but the details are unimportant because that was probably 5-10 years ago and everything has changed in Sto Domingo). It helps to speak Spanish there, but it isn't really necessary unless you want to plan something outside the bar.
