On Friday, was still exhausted from prior night, decided to leave hotel at around 10 pm and wanted to explore Casas out of the tourist zone (Gazcue and Conde). On Thursday, I went to Casa Theresa (TC) on Ortega why Gasset street. The Casa was set up like a strip club. As you walk in the front door you see a living room with a set of stairs to the right and another door to the left. When you walk through the door to your left you have the main room which has a strip pole. This room also has a long benches bordering the walls. Just go to any Claro store and they will sell you a SIM Card for your Iphone. That is what I did when I went to SD. Then you can add minutes and unlimited internet. It is very cheap and the internet is fast better than Sprint in the USA Good luck.

You can buy a prepaid SIM card for an iphone. No need to cut anything. Bring the phone to an Orange or Claro store. They will sell you what you need.
