Can anyone mention some good places to eat that won't explode your wallet? Not looking for anything too "swank"; just some places where you can get some good Churrasco (grilled meats) , pollo frito (fried chicken),"La Bandera", or Costillas (ribs).

I am also interested in some mid-level type restaurants as well that is a nice place to take a chica to (non-Italian cuisine; just not a fan) ; but I am not looking to go to the "Ruth Chris" of Santo Domingo. Just looking for some nice places for a rib-eye or seafood.

When it comes to chicken checkout "Pollo Provocon" locations all aroun Santo Domingo. Try it with the "Wasakaka" suace and bed of rice.

Thank you all for your info. I will save it for future use. This is how things evolved. Before I read your replies, I called Riazor Hotel last night and made a reservation. They said it was $55 a night for a single with breakfast included.

This afternoon, I checked my email and found a reply from Rafael of Jaguar. Apparently, he / they did get my 4 attempts! To make a reservation. His email had all of my information that I had input. He wanted to know what type of room I wanted.

"Let me know the type of room you want."

Single with full size bed $45/$50.

Matrimonial with king size bed $55/$60.

Double with 2 full size beds $55/$60.

And then he wrote : "If you need to be picked up at airport advise with flight information."

Hmmm providing airport pickup? I like that service. Rockys in Sosua provides pickup and drop off for members of certain forums. I like that. That saves about $50. The price of a night or a chica. If there is a pickup fee with Jaguar, no problem. I still like the idea that the hotel is taking some responsibility of getting me to their hotel. After I secure confirmation from Rafael, I will cancel with Riazor. Again thanks fellas. I hope the current rate info helps someone.

Well Latin Euro is a hit and miss I and some buddies have use them in the past. The way we did it was each of us had about 10 to 13 girls a piece depending on the package we bought. Now on some list I have had a good hit rate and than some not so good, but I have gotten enough good chicas from them that I would say it works. Now I do not used them because I had just as good success using tagged and facebook and they are free (LOL)

Hotel Napolitano (LOL)?

Speaking of which, is the Napolitano "Monger Wallet-proof"? Meaning, could a chica staying with you wake up one night, go down to the casino, and start placing bets and drinks or some shit with everything credited to (or against) your room?

I'll worry more about hotel room minibar items which are expensive. I do not think an unregistered guest can charge anything to a room.

This entire DR board should be called the Sosua board. With a sprinkle of Blackbeards posts. 95% of the people on this board only care about Sosua. Another 4% about Blackbeards. No point providing information about anything else.

I will be happy when the owner deletes all my posts, all my attachments and my username. It is not difficult mongering anywhere in the DR. Any retarded person can laid in the DR, very easily, no need for detailed information.

See, that's the thing. The information you provide goes above and beyond just mongering. I for one appreciate it, as a person preparing for his 2nd trip. You and others (via pm and the forum) have really helped me a lot, and I look forward to more information from you guys, and I hope to eventually have the knowledge to give back.

Went to their website and tried to make a reservation. Clicked on reservation, input all data, clicked SEND and nothing happened? Window froze. No problem right? Called the hotel but there is no body there who speaks english so I can reserve over the phone. Oh well, Now I will have to choose other options, like either the Riazor or Palacio. Lets see how this goes. At least I have my flight taken care of.
