You are aware that El Duque is a gay men's hotel?
Try the Riazor right behind the Jaragua.

go to ave. venezuela. , the other side of the ozama river from zona colonial, try house-drink, a fancy colmodon, there are few other higher end colmodones on ave. venezuela, then try eclipse, a dance club a few blocks away. i would bring a driver, or have one on speed dial. zero tourists in this area, chock full of local toto!

Avenida Venezuela just north of Las Americas has 4-5 bars in a three block radius, I doubt many tourists hang out there.

The $85 per night includes the 26% in taxes?

    Thanks

Quizas el es un maricon. Obelisk I was told is a penis symbol, god of the earth procreating with the goddess of the sky. Santiago has the biggest penis symbol, haha.

March 26, 27 - Santo Domingo- out on the town?

First time poster here but long time adventurer! I will be in Santo Domingo staying at the Duke off ave independencia and want to know if anyone wants to meet up for a beer and to scout around?

I live in Thailand and will be able to trade some great info and stories! I like to have a good time and am looking for someone that knows the town or wants to figure it out with me! I will be posting my exploits and look forward toi this trip.

I will be traveling the country for 14 days after Santo Domingo with stops at BB, FOD and Sousa in store.

Let me know. I'm physically in shape and look for a wing man or someone who would like a wing man!

You can also visit Parque Mirador Sur in the southwest part of the city, sorrounded by exclusive condos and houses. It is a few kilometers long, it has jogging and bike lanes , a few recreational areas, a lake and botanical gardens.
Anacaona is supposedly a nice neighborhood with high priced condos, I believe near to Parque Mirador Sur (on the north side of the Park). On the south side of Parque Mirador Sur the neighborhood I drove through was nothing special. Further south from there, Avenida Independencia is a two way street.

I saw one tall building that had a helicopter landing spot on the roof. Helicopters also land at the hotel Santo Domingo.

On a Sunday afternoon I saw a guy with a motorized para glider flying over the Malecon.

Only problem with BQ Hotel is that is a little far from Gazcue. There are working girls on Avenida Sarasota near BQ Hotel. Very close to BQ Hotel is Hotel El Embajador, I saw a group of working girls sitting on the steps of a plaza that is on the side street that takes you to the front of Hotel El Embajador. There is a popular restaurant on that side street as well. Some working girls hang around on the inside of the Hotel El Embajador, it has a very small casino.

One other thing, try not to travel on Avenida Sarasota during rush hour, bumper to bumper, very slow moving traffic. The Bella Vista shopping Mall should be close to Hotel BQ. About a 1/4 of a mile from BQ Hotel going west there is a nice shopping center that sits at the end of Sarasota.
