Given that I and others have spent countless hours in there and have not caught it, I don't believe you are guaranteed to catch it by walking through. This year, I'd estimate I've been up there maybe 20 times. Each visit, except one, was at least 3 hours. No problems until the last time. While that is hardly a scientific study, I believe it's more about the girl (s) you select and less about just walking around.

I am certain just walking around increases your risk vs staying home. But to your point, yes, I'm nearly certain, given all the circumstances, that had I not been kissing this particular girl, I probably would not have caught it.

I spent between $100-$130 on drinks for both of us all night. I do want to clarify that the first hour was basically me walking around finding new homes for my 1 dollar bills. Not quite true. You can survive as low as 28 C. But the point is well taken. It's doubtful than anyone walking in to HK has that degree of hypothermia so the thermometers are probably not very accurate. Although for me they generally read a bit above 36 C which is about right.

I respect that. Thankfully, my sense of smell is about 50% back.

Me? I really had no real fear about getting the virus. I'm not saying this as a critique at all. But I felt the numbers are on my side, with such high recovery rates. That said, I knew the risk and made it a point to get tested regularly. I'm an overkill kind of guy with STD testing. So I made it a practice to test for COVID before and after every trip. What's interesting is I took a test the day I returned home. Negative. Two days later? Positive. Unnerving. But I do think we have a very big responsibility to be tested if we are willing to take those risks.
