Very aware of that. Some would (and have) call me reckless for going to 7th floor. Perhaps it is. As I've stated many times, this virus won't make me cower in a corner. But, you make a very valid point. I may be reckless but I don't want to be selfish. So, what I do to ease my conscience:

I go overboard with my STD testing. I've adopted the same approach with my Covid testing. I keep my trips really short. I spend 2 days, 3 at most in Tijuana. I get a test a day or two before I leave and a couple days after I return. Every time. Keeping it short, at least in my mind, gives me time to identify it early. Given the incubation time, even if I caught it day 1, it still takes days to incubate, test positive or become contagious. I work remotely so when I return home, I am basically quarantined.

Maybe I am fortunate but there is a company here locally that has tests that turnaround in about 24 hours and only costs $30. They've made good money off of me. LOL But I do it religiously specifically for the vulnerable guy down the road.

Is that effective? In my mind, yes. Literally, the first in-person interaction I had after my last trip was with the technician that swabbed my nose.

I had to suspect someone was rolling me for money, but the first good sign was she did not ask all the guys who have her tel number, only me, probably because I had multiple sessions with her before and I show her lots of affection. I don't buy the argument any girls are in need of food money. I have a friend, making peanuts, as a teacher in Tijuana. She showed me her food pantry, for her two kids on whatsapp. She had enough food for 5 months. Hk girls make more in 8 weeks than these school teachers. I can eat perfectly fine on 5 dollars a day in usa if I needed to. Are the woman hurting? Definitely. Maybe instead of working 4 months a year now they have to work 8 months a year for 60% of their income. Probably the "1 dollar baby " "1 dollar because you looked at me pay me now" are hurting the most. But the rest of the girls should be able to make money still. Remember, Tijuana is more expensive than the rest of Mexico, a lot of these woman own apartments homes paid in full, or rent for $200, $300 a month. I think the people hurting much more are the taxi drivers, and normal restaurant bar employees.

A lot of Mexican families would starve to death after 9 months without incomes; most dire are young girls and single mothers who have no savings or assets.

I respect that. Thankfully, my sense of smell is about 50% back.

Me? I really had no real fear about getting the virus. I'm not saying this as a critique at all. But I felt the numbers are on my side, with such high recovery rates. That said, I knew the risk and made it a point to get tested regularly. I'm an overkill kind of guy with STD testing. So I made it a practice to test for COVID before and after every trip. What's interesting is I took a test the day I returned home. Negative. Two days later? Positive. Unnerving. But I do think we have a very big responsibility to be tested if we are willing to take those risks.

It's hard to say. In recent years I have seen far less girls leave for Christmas. Some years quite a girls will leave in late January.

Generally, there is a huge reduction in girls working. Christmas. New Years is probably the only time of the year Mexican families all get together. So any chicas not from Tijuana will go back to their home town. And many of the girls from Tijuana itself will likely spend Christmas day with family rather than work. This is based on a regular year when HK, Adelitas and the other bars were fully open. With the Covid and the regular bars closed, I think the reduction in chicas will even be more drastic.
