Starting to wonder how many girls get killed in Tijuana as sex workers.

Well it's not like it's a regular occurence but I do think it happens more than gets reported unfortunately. I started becoming aware of this around the time that former basketball player at Rutgers killed the chica at Adelitas a couple of years ago in what was a highly publicized incident. I only go to Tijuana three times a year or so but just happened to be in Tijuana the day after that incident at Adelitas happened. Talked to a longtime amiga who'd worked at Adelitas for 10+ years about it as that was actually the first time I'd ever heard of a chica getting killed (so I was a bit upset and sad about what happened, especially the way in which she was killed). She mentioned to me that that was far from the only killing and mentioned that there had been multiple other recent killings of chicas around Zona Norte, including one at HK, that had gone unreported, which shocked me. Again, not that this happens all the time but she talked about it like it was just part of the job that chicas just needed to be aware of and take proper precautions to minimize risk.

I tried to press her for more info about other killings and the frequency they occur but but she got slightly upset and wanted to talk about something else, which is understandable. Gotten a similar reaction from other chicas I've known for a while, acknowledging that violence from male customers is a risk, but they were reluctant to talk about it.

The chica who was killed by the Rutgers basketball player a couple years ago was actually a friend of another chica that I see regularly who used to work at Adelitas but now works at HK. They lived in the same apartment.

There seems to be a disconnect in HK between upper management and day to day operations. I would speculate that there was some exodus in middle management by assassination and / or fear. I am sure that the chica grapevine is full of talk about HK getting murdered and that scare most of the chicas away. Consequently HK reaches out to street girls as replacement workers.

You can book a room online at https://hotelcascadas.com/ check-in 3 PM. You also have to pay a deposit of $30 for drinks in the fridge. If you don't drink anything, the deposit is refunded. The room is ok has air condition, shower with soap, shampoo and towels, TV has 3 porn channels one channel CBS 8 from San Diego in English. Have fun.

Check in is at 3 pm. If you plan to take 2 or more, yes it's usually best to get your own room.

Take LOTS AND LOTS of $1. 00 bills! You will need them for the strippers and plus it is a sacrificial Propina / Donation to the street people who will recognize your newbie eyes and harrass you.

Don't give anything to beggars on the street. Keep walking and ignore them or just wave them off with a quick "no gracias. " Anything else is asking for more harassment, not less.

(street chica goes free if you have a rented room in Cascadas). The best deal, in my opinion, is to buy a Hong Kong VIP card ($60 for 3 months). Then you have a 70% discount on Monday and Tuesday on rooms in Cascadas. Eg a single bed room per night is $26 and a double bed room per night is $30. There is no chicas fee. Also 20% discount in Azul restaurant. If you don't have a room in Cascadas, you now pay $40/30 minutes for the room plus $100 for sex service.

You have been given good advice! "Not needing a passport" will cause you to possibly be screened by customs coming back into USA. Take your Passport Card! Or Passport.

Luke is probably like the YouTube auditors who harass cops with legalities. Yes - you can re-enter USA without PPT but why draw attention to yourself!

Also. I feel I must mention to you:

HIDE YOUR LARGE BILLS! Tijuana is much more rough than in Soy 6 Pattaya where the Xpats are mostly mellow and passive. When you are in the Zona you will be asked for money from beggars, street people and shoe shine guys, room cleaners, guys selling crap and guys selling useless costume jewelries.

True. You can just say No. But - guard your big bills. Have lots of small bills ready for when you need to buy small items.

Asking for change in the clubs can cost you.

Luke is right about one thing. Stick with the big 3. Well now the big 2 plus maybe Tropical because Tropical is owned by HK and right across the street. You will be barked at to enter the other clubs but I would not do that on a first trip. HK and CC will do you up fine.

Some girls ask for as much as $120-$130, especially at HK during peak periods on weekends, but $100 is now the most common rate. Some girls, especially at non-HK Zona Norte bars, will still go for $80 or maybe even a bit less depending on your negotiating skills and / or how much they like you. I got a chica for $80 in Tropical back in late April and she accepted the $80 offer pretty quickly.

Scroll the web page to "User Blog" and read "Brockton O'Tool's Tijuana Guide (updated April 2009). This has been the bible for beginners to Zona Norte in Tijuana. It is very helpful even though the prices for services are now higher, Hong Kong it has gone from a tiny club to a gigantic one with several floors and Adelita is temporarily closed (BTW Luke Powell has been banned from Hong Kong for a long time.).

As soon as I said no to marriage and that I'm ending this incredibly expensive monthly allowance, HK chica immediately blocked me and spewed nasty words from her working girl mouth. Telling you guys to save you future losses of money and time. HK chicas all sharks and only want your US citizenship and wallet. Once any of those two are taken away, you are nothing to them even if you've known the for a while or given them tons of money over time. Have fun Luke powell's way: smash and dash. That's the right way to go. Anything longterm or more intimate with an HK chica ain't worth it.

Any good "How to" guides, or "What to expect" references for a newbie? Good articles, websites or videos for someone who has never crossed into Tijuana.

Trying to figure out what to expect when crossing (if I need any other than my passport), and how to get to HK or other good clubs, what to expect expense wise all around for a day trip, what to look out for. That kinda stuff.

Well from my perspective he does give bad advice sometimes on best practices. One that comes to mind is his repeated insistence that you don't need to worry about having a passport to get into Tijuana. I suppose it's technically true that Mexican customs officials pretty much always let you come across the border without one (even though passports are required per Mexican federal law) but you'd better be prepared to bribe the customs officials $20-$30 to enter Mexico if they catch you without one. Can also potentially be a pain in the ass crossing back to the USA Without as passport (e. G. , much greater chance they put you through a secondary screening).

He also advocates taxis as the best method of getting back and forth from the border to the clubs. Think I've maybe taken a taxi once over the past couple of years traveling to / from the border and that was probably only because I was in a hurry. The (free) HK limo or Uber is always going to be cheaper. Or if you don't mind walking 5-7 minutes, there's a 15-peso taxi de ruta that will take you close enough to Zona Norte where you can walk the rest of the way.

Granted these aren't huge things but it's things like this here and there that let you know that he's not the "expert" that he puts himself out there to be. Much more knowledgeable people on these and other Tijuana boards. He's also given out bad info on Adelitas re-opening and some stuff that was going on in the clubs during COVID. Others here might be able to give better examples.

But with all that said, there's going to be some level of expertise with a guy who's lived in Tijuana for 17+ years, frequents all of these clubs, knows a lot of the chicas, and speaks fluent Spanish. So you can definitely learn from him despite the negative opinons about him here LOL. He's also a very open, engaging person who's willing to talk to pretty much anyone about Tijuana, even people he doesn't know.

I've read quite a bit, but there's a shit ton of content to comb through. Figured if there was a particular thread or webpage with good how to advice for beginner Tijuana tourists, this would be the place to ask.

You don't have to buy a girl a drink. The maseros (waiters) are really persistent so that's why some feel pressured to buy a girl a drink. The maseros can come by you 4-5 times within a few minutes pestering you to buy a lady drink or a drink for yourself.

From my experience, buy a drink doesn't necessarily help or hurt the experience when taking the girl to the room.

You don't need a room ahead of time. You get a new room each time unless you prebooked a room.

For me, I think any time is fine, but some prefer coming in later at night. From my experience the danger factor doesn't change throughout the night.

You have to buy a girl a drink to sit in the booths. If you're just standing talking, then no, but they will clearly tell you that you can't sit there without buying a drink.
