Thank you Baxter Slade, you gave a nice, concise explanation of where, and sometimes why a tourist would want to use one currency or another. I believe I've saved a lot of money over the years by using pesos with sex workers.

When I go into the Soriana grocery store on Revo near the intersection of 3rd street, I always use dollars. When you walk in that store, on the wall next to the turnstile entry and shopping carts, they display their current exchange rate in very large numbers. It is always a great exchange rate when spending dollars. A much better exchange rate than you get for your dollars at cambios on either side of the border. I don't know the reason why they seem to always give a great rate for dollars. But my guess is they have a lot of suppliers that ask for dollars, so it might help them to encourage their customers to use dollars instead of pesos.

Before I begin, thanks a bunch to all the ones who've come before and left such great information. It all definitely helped make my night successful.

I went to Tijuana this past Saturday in hopes to make it for the MLB fiesta. In preparation, I spent some time learning Spanish in hopes to communicate a bit better. I also got $260 in pesos in hopes to save some money. (Spoiler alert: They didn't help.) Afterwards, I parked my car at the border station parking closest to the outlets. It was 18 bucks to park there vs 25 bucks to park at the one behind the jack in the box. From there I walked over to PEDEAST and made my way across the border.

Before making the trip, I scoured the forums in hopes to find out what security was like and whether or not I could manage sneaking a weed pen down there. I wasn't sure if there'd be a physical pat down, so I left my weed pen in my car this time around. When I got to security at around 7:30 PM, there wasn't a lot of people going through and the only thing they were really enforcing was putting your bag into the X-Ray. It didn't really seem like too much of an issue so I'd definitely at least bring a disposable pen. However, it definitely could've just been a slow day.

After I made it across, I made it my first point to look for some Figral. The first and only time I went to Hong Kong, I got major whiskey dick so I wanted to prevent that from happening. I found Farmacias Similares in the shopping center west of the crossing and managed to make a full transaction. Here's where my efforts to learn Spanish slightly helped and failed me at the same time. So my first recommendation would be to at least get really good with numbers, especially when you're dealing with pesos which easily hit the thousands count.

Afterwards, I waited a couple minutes for my Uber to get to El Torito Bar where MLB's fiesta was being held. Upon arrival, I tried talking to the staff saying that I was there for Dennis or the Fiesta, but neither yielded any understanding because of my lack of Spanish. I would've mentioned Mexico Lindo Bar but I was too afraid to be judged (for whatever reason). Sadly, I ended up forgoing the fiesta, but in no way did it spoil my evening. I walked around Tijuana a bit more and as I got closer to calle Coahuila, I'd noticed the Street Girls waiting outside of their respective hotels hoping to pick up a fella. There were some top notch hotties but I didn't attempt to take them up on their offers because of my lack of experience with them. As a result, I pretty much circled the block once then made my way to Hong Kong.

I'm sure the meseros managing the fichas easily pulled themselves some tips, but whatever, I didn't mind. This gets especially more difficult to manage when you're 4-5 drinks deep. So again, either git gud with Spanish numbers or focus on dealing with dollars. In the end, it wasn't a terrible experience, just some awkwardness when trying to figure out how much money I'm supposed to give.

So, for the first hour or two, I walked around admiring the scene and popped a Figral so that I could be ready. Given that it was a Saturday, the whole place was packed. Which wasn't too much of an issue. I was able to find seating up on the third floor and watch one of the shaving cream shows going on. Although walkers could be found anywhere, there are a few places where these unlicensed sex workers appear in greater concentration.

Perhaps the best place to look for HWH (Hookers without Health Cards) is the far west end of the alley. There are legal Street Girls also working in that area on the North sidewalk near Cuartos Venicia and the South sidewalk near Karla's Bar and Casa Teresa as well, but often there are street walkers strolling around there also and on Nino Heroes close to the alley's end.

Another place where walkers can often be found is at, and in the vicinity of, the Crossroads. Experienced, legendary monger JTull2 was the first person I knew to coin the phrase 'the Crossroads" as the name for the intersection of Coahuila Ave. And Constitution. Before answering you, let me first correct a minor error in your post. Women that you find inside bars, like HK, are often referred to as Bar Girls. Street Girls and Street Walkers are found outside, generally on the sidewalk. The difference between Street Girls and Street Walkers is that Street Girls are working legally, have Health Cards and tend to stand in front of the Hotels they usually use for work sessions. Street Walkers lack legal permits to engage as sex workers in Tijuana, and thus they walk around LZ since they get busted often if they stand stationary in front of hotels that rent short-term room. All of these women (BGs, SGs & SWs) are often called chicas.

I am not alone in having the opinion that the best looking group of working girls in Tijuana can be found in Hong Kong Bar. I think they can make the best money there than anywhere else in Tijuana.
