I am 2 days from my first visit to Tijuana and HK. Done my research, have my cash, have my coupons from the site. All that's left is to fly my ass out there. So excited for this.

The ATMs in HK and the hotel are no longer working. If you leave HK, turn left and there is now a row of ATMs in an enclosed area. When I was there Friday, the rate at the exchange places was 17.30 to 1. The ATM next to HK gave me 17.87.

And yes, all in pesos.

Actually a couple shootings there. But there have been a lot of shootings. Lets see just to name a few Tropical, HK several across from La Perla, a coulple outside Chicago Club, a bunch of people shot at El Torito on Rev. If you walk from HK to Adelitas you can still see bullet holes in the church that seperates them.

And we can't forget the DJ shot dead at Valentina bar by the commercial cop playing with his gun. So I would advice anyone who fears shootings probably abvoid Tijuana.

But that would be terrible advice. I mean there was the guy who got shot at the taco bell drive through in the states. Should we avoid drive thrus also. It would be a hell of a lot safer to just stay home. BUT WHAT FUN WOULD THAT BE?

I didn't go there looking. I was dragged there against my will by 2 hotties. Haha. I was surrounded by HK girls our table on 2nd floor. A few of the girls brought other guys back to our table to party. I like the vibe no meseros hounding and not stacked with fellow Americans. I went on solo sat morn bumped into friends and walked out a couple hours later with a sexy flaca I had never even seen working at HK before. Had breakfast at azul and had a great day laying, napping and soaking in jacuzzi together.

There's no such thing as a "secret bar. " If you've been around the block you've seen every bar in the ZN, save for CC, the&G and one or two west of NH on Coahuila.

Most girls go home after their shifts. The ones who do want to party often to go La Malquerida, which is certainly not a secret bar by any means. Some go to the much smaller Valentina, opposite LM. You'll find some info on both here, but not much. The reason is that they don't tend to appeal to the average poster on this board. While both bars have different vibes, they both appeal to more to locals than to gringos.

But saying either is full of hot bar girls off the clock is something of an overstatement, IMHO.

It's common knowledge in the zona that putas after their shift go to either La Valentina or La Malqerida to drink (more.) La Malquerida is way more popular though. The DJ at Valentina is a retard and he'll start playing Spanish opera music which will clear the place out, with the crowd leaving in droves for La Malquerida.

I found recently quite a few HK girls speak passable, if not good English.

It was fun to hang out with Goodsense3 over the Presidents weekend. He's an educated young guy from the South. That explains why he just loves music and wet pussies so much hehe.

Glad he liked Mexico's Bohemia beer. It's tasty but smooth, not biting, with fuller body than even Heineken. Indio is also tasty, but Corona, Tecate, XX are too weak and sour for my taste. He's the witness to HK's bullshit 2 ozs of red wine in a goblet for dinner.

I found that Latin people, Mexicans and Argentinians in particular, are like El Capitan by nature, nice, sweet, fun, playful, light-hearted, tend to kid around and have fun like kids. Most are not serious, mean and ugly like typical Yankees. By kidding and having a little fun with them you can indicate you want to be friends, not enemies, not exploiters who use, abuse and take advantages of them. Goodsense3 saw how the body shop guy, Ruben Carillos, gave me a far better deal for my car than Spanish-speaking Mexican Americans.

The same fun, gentle, sincere, disarming approach also works with street girls and bar girls in Tijuana, perhaps also with all sorts of people all over the world. I have seen guys make GF's out of bar girls with their games. El Capitan certainly has fun with all kinds of people all over the world, especially with the bros from out of state, who have the same passion for fun, good life, good food, good wines and beautiful women.

The ATM in HK's and Cascada's lobbies all dispense pesos; terminal cost about 90 pesos, plus whatever your bank charges for overseas transactions.

If you search this thread under "ATM" there are lots of infos already posted.

The 2 Scotia ATMs next to Adelita on Coahuila dispense either pesos or dollars; terminal fee is only 9 pesos, plus overseas transaction fee which is zero for Bank America's clients. That area is near La Zona's bars, well lighted, frequented by people day and night, and the armed security guards at Adelita door are only 10 feet away, making those ATMs safe. I have not had any problems there for over 18 years.

The ATMs in HK and Cascades all give Pesos. They have a max of 3,000 Pesos per-transaction. I try not to use them because the fee was pretty high (it has been a while so I don't remember what it was) and on my bank statement it said, the withdraw was from Zona Norte. Now I plan better and I either use banks or normally I exchange for pesos before crossing border. My only concern is I am crossing the border often times with close to $1,500 in cash and pesos. Never been a problem but makes me a little nervous sometimes.

And make sure you tell your bank. I have made that embarrassing mistake before.
