I am sincerely sad that my time in Hong Kong has come to an end, but I definitely plan on visiting again some time in the future. Next time, I plan on visiting some bars / clubs down the block. To my fellow mongers, have fun and stay safe.

I headed out to HK later than I would have liked. I had spent the day renting a bicycle and riding to La Jolla. The scenery, temperature, and skyline were all amazing. I estimate I biked around 10 miles in total. The biking, along with the fact that I only got 3 hours of sleep the previous night, meant that I needed to take a nap before going to HK. I tried sleeping but was only able to fall asleep for 30 minutes as I was anticipating what would happen later on in the night. I was also thinking about an idea I had this morning, which was to bring some 420 edibles across the border with me to enjoy HK. So instead of drinking, I would take an edible or two and be good for the night. After some debate about the cost / benefits of my decision, I decided to do it.

I left my place around 7 PM and took an Uber to the Trolley Station, where I took the blue line to the last stop, San Ysidro. From there, I went through border security, then walked down the path and took a taxi to HK. I arrived, and headed up the stairs to the Hotel Cascadas Reception desk. Because I had stayed the previous night, I was able to get the same room. I was pleasantly surprised to see the room had been cleaned when I opened the door.

I dropped off my stuff, and ate an edible. I laid in bed listening to some music, waiting for the edible to kick in. About 40 minutes later, I was feeling it, so I headed downstairs to the club. After paying for my food, which came out to $11 or $12, I headed back to my room to decide what to do for the rest of the night.

Part of me wanted to just call it a night, but being that this was my last night in Zona Norte, I wanted to take advantage of it. So I took out my last piece of edible, ate half, and went downstairs to HK observe the action. The crowd was starting to thin out by then, being that it was after 2 AM. The wait was about 30 minutes long. The border agent that I spoke to was the same guy I spoke to the previous night when I was messed up. The first night, he tried asking me some trick questions to mess me up, such as "When was the last time you crossed the border from Mexico back into the US?" (This was a trick question because it was my first time crossing back from Mexico). Thankfully, this time he was cooler. Because he recognized me, he only asked me the one required question. I answered it, and walked through the gate and towards the doors, back on the other side. Being that I was back in the US, I could use my phone again. I turned off airplane mode and ordered an Uber to my destination.

Summary: Hong Kong was a lot more enjoyable for me the second time around. Having a different mindset really made things better for me, and sticking only to my edibles was a smart decision on my part. I find it cool how Hong Kong is known worldwide, and I can see why people would fly many hours to come here and experience what it's like. At first, I was nervous coming down by myself, and that contributed to my poor decision making the first night.

My advice to people who are thinking about coming alone but are scared to do so is: just come on down. You will find mongers of all ages and ethnicities, so it doesn't matter how old you are. Have an idea of which types of girls you want to spend time with. If you don't speak Spanish well, make sure you have Google Translate on your phone. The VIP card is definitely worth it if you come on a Monday / Tuesday, my room cost me $15 for the night. Come here with an open mind, you don't have to bring anyone upstairs. If you do decide to bring someone upstairs, always negotiate with them first so you both have a clear idea of what services will be or not be provided upstairs. Do your best to relax and just have fun, whether it's with a girl or just chilling and watching the shows going on.

(BTW it is not a good idea to take an unknown pill from unknown guys in Tijuana hotel). If I am taking viagra then only from the pharmacy the generic name viagra "Figral" and I drink only bottled or mineral water and only after sex I start to drink beer. Yea, paying for the hour was a big no-no on my part. I opted for the hour because I have mongered in Brazil and over there 1 hour GFE is standard. Which means the girl will be attentive to you for around 30 minutes, which is perfect for me. It's not that I can't finish in 30 minutes, I just hate being rushed, and hearing a phrase along the lines of "Are you almost done?" 10 minutes into the session Is a huge turnoff for me.

I am definitely going in with a different mindset tonight. I exchanged a bunch of my 20's for 10's and 5's earlier today, because I have a feeling I will be going through a lot of interviews tonight. As for drinking, I think I will stick to water / soda / juice. It will probably lead to smarter decisions. Anyways, I'm going to head out to HK soon. If all works well, I plan on staying the night in my room and crossing the border tomorrow morning. Will report back tomorrow.

Went to HK for the first time last night. Overall, the night was ok, but I made numerous mistakes of which I hope to avoid the next time I visit, most likely tonight.

The first mistake I made was drinking an energy drink right before crossing the border. Being that it was my first time in Tijuana, the extra caffeine made me jittery and extra nervous. The reason I drank the energy drink was because I wanted to have enough energy for a good night. But that did not happen at all (the energy part).

Second mistake: forgot the prices of taxi to HK. I ended up paying $8. Rookie mistake I will not make again. Alas, I was dropped off in front of HK and I walked up to Hotel Cascada. I had reserved a room online this past weekend, and planned to use the VIP card to take advantage of their 80% discount. However, I was informed by the receptionist that they did not receive a reservation from me and asked to see my email for confirmation. My phone was on airplane mode because I do not have international data roaming. The manager made me turn off Airplane mode and show them the reservation otherwise they could not give me a room. This ticked me off because who knows how much opening up that email cost me in data charges. After reading the email, the receptionist magically found my reservation, and off I went to drop off my stuff before heading downstairs.

Angry and still jittery from the energy drink, I walked into HK and was a bit overwhelmed. I ended up sitting at the bar on the left to try to collect myself. Because I do not like beer, I opted to order some shots. I ended up having about 5 in less than 30 minutes. During this time, a random girl comes to me, sits on my lap, and orders a drink for herself. Third mistake. I had no interest in her, yet I ended up spending $10 on her. I should have just ignored her..

Yeah Viagra is a serious medication. It is not to be taken unless really needed. You didn't do so bad, nobody robbed you and you didn't wander to side streets. In general, expecting GFE from Hong Kong is a bad idea unless you got money to throw away. Go to other bars. And pinching pennies on cab fees, to then throw 160 on a girl for vhf upstairs is kind of reason Hong Kong girls will be asking for 150 in two years for ten minutes of sex. Don't pay a girl for a full hour. Unless you banged her before. Almost every girl wants you to finish within 8 minutes of putting yourself inside of her. They bang guys all night they don't want 20 minutes of you slamming her. So paying for an hour was your biggest mistake.

That's a good suggestion. I should try other bars for authentic Mexican / Latin music.

I like the bolero songs with the guitar, brooding, sweet and sad, like most Mexican girls. I don't much like the noisy brass bands in Chevelas or Malquerida. The bars should have better mixes of their music.

Carlos Santana was from Tijuana, had a great rock band with the best percussion. Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass played all the songs for James Bond's "Casino Royale. " It was a fun movie.

There are dozen's of bars in that one block, and many of them play nothing but Spanish music. HK is Gringo DizzyLand, so if you want to get closer to the culture, go elsewhere.

My favorite is El Norteno, where in the restroom, there's usually someone smoking something in a tiny glass pipe. And they sell 1-litre beers for less than what HK charges for a 12-ounce can!
