The price gouging in HK has really gotten out of hand. $40 dollars for a short term room is outrageous. I simply won't pay it. The only way to go is basically to have your own room, nowadays. The last thing I want to happen is to pay $40 for that room and have the towel boy come knocking after 15-20 min, and then have the nerve to demand a tip.

Ladies drinks were always a rip off. Now even more so. Annoying meseros. Even the robe guy has always bothered me. So many damn dudes interfering.

But the worst thing is that I really think the business model hurts the girls. Every time I go there, I see the same thing. The majority of the girls standing around all night, perhaps never even going upstairs with a client. And I know that a lot of the guys in there are thinking the same thing I'm thinking: that it is simply too expensive to take a chance on less than a perfect opportunity.

I find myself being a lot more selective than I used to be, simply because I am unwilling to fork over $150+ for a bad or mediocre experience. This would eliminate some of the penniless riffriff and make the place less of a sausage-fest, but it really wouldn't deter the guys that actually want to do business there. The lower barrier to entry would make it a better environment for the guys and girls, and they would probably pull about the same revenue as before.

The best thing that we can hope for is that this virtual monopoly that HK has is eventually ended. We desperately need a legit competitor to HK. When HK was a younger club, it was kind of cool, but as the years have gone by, it has sought to abuse it's monopoly to a greater and greater extent.

Yeah, as I've said multiple times on these boards, I've been going down to Tijuana for years and not once had problems with any of the other customers.
