I read about same 2 or 3 guys having trouble at HK, all the time. I have talked about this several times on how to avoid waiters, When you read there post there is also have something in common, they go to HK with no money then complain. I think some them AR just cheap, and probably have way more money then me, but I guarantee I am having way more fun. I would never make fun of someone job, or status, but you know when you go to HK you need $200-300, if you go with less then $100 and you are on the first floor chances you will have a bad experience. I completely ignore the waiters, but I go upstairs or go to Azul, I have only had a problem one time with a waiter and the that waiter was yelled at by the management. HK is a business and the waiters are there to make money. It would be like me going into the nicest Steakhouse in Dallas and Austin, taking one of the best tables and not spending any money. Trust me that would not fly very long.

Another example I go to once the nicest restaurants in MTY, frequently almost every night when I am in town. I am treated like royalty now. Trust me I do not spend a lot of money there. We drink eat and party until the turn on the light, with the curfew 10 pm, that sucks, but at least they are open. All the staff hugs me or says Hello, now, it is amazing. Another example staff was texting me on Whatsapp today, talking about the Lockdown in MTY. They treat me well and respect the Hell out of them. Same thing when I was in Kev and Moscow. In Moscow I ended up hanging out with one of the best Chef / owner of Rest. In Moscow. There were times when he would be talking to High Profile Clients, he would stop everything to say Hello to me. I would spend between $100-150, for 2 people, for all night smoking, drinking and eating, very little money for what I got back. I guarantee that most for the customers next to meet were spending big money. You guys have to respect staff at HK, especially if you go frequently or just go upstairs.

That is unfortunate that HK has resorted to the lap dance requirement. That was the reason I stop with the Playboy club in the past. But the girls hate the lap dance because they think it is a big waste of their time. They get paid peanuts for it I believe. I think you should insist buying a drink for a girl at the bar instead of a booth. If you insist a booth, I think you should take her to the farthest corner of Chevelas so that a waiter has to go out of his way to find you. Good luck.

What happened to you is normal, for both HK and all the bars. There has always been a unwritten rule, just from observing waiters, that you only get 20 seconds to talk to a girl, for free, before she has to leave if you don't buy her a beer. That's assuming, a waiter noticed and ran over to you like they do 95% of the time. You tipping them money, while its better for the girl than the measly 2 bucks or so credit from a drink, that does nothing for the waiters, the waiters, in the bars, are essentially the waiters / owners / manager / bouncer / pimp. They run the show. Unless you a big shot and the waiters know to leave you alone, then we are the peasants in their house. The girl I bought drink for yesterday told me the lap dance thing is the new policy if you buy her a drink they are going to push the dance on you. They asked me twice. They also interrupted my 2 drinks with her which were 10 minutes each, they interrupted about 8 more times to buy garbage food. I don't know how to get anyone to keep the food beggars away. The profit from selling 2 dollar junk food, vs pissing guys off to the point they buy less drinks, I think its a bad business decision from these bars. Its like you decide to buy a girl a drink, but its not you and the girl for 10 minutes. It becomes a sausage fest of men surrounding you and if you wave these food people off they look at you in disbelief like who the hell does this gringo think he is. I think next drinkbi buy a girl ill tell the waiter bill tip him after if he keeps everyone away. He probably won't bother to help. And the girls hate the lap dance most tell me this. The meseros have absolutely zero authority. I mean none whatsoever. The only thing they can do is to go tattle to the manager or security guys. The meseros themselves are completely powerless. The chicas don't have to leave if the mesero tells them to. The meseros can't fire them, suspend them, send them home, or sanction them in any manner. I've gotten into a couple heated confrontations with meseros and they could do nothing. Don't let the meseros push you around, stand firm with them and they'll back down.
