Do not tip the guy who opens cab door. The cab driver should do it. Regardless every swinging dick and pussy in Tijuana will try to get a buck from everyone. Learn to control yourself.

Cab is $6 HK. Border. Hk also has free shuttle. The free shuttle driver deserves tip imo.

It has been a very long time since I have had direct knowledge of renting in this part of Mexico but I suppose this still holds true. If possible rent directly from owner. Agencies commonly will ask for double what owner wants for rentals when dealing with Americans.

Because of the variance in exchange rates, if you pay in pesos right now you will save about 5%, but that is not enough of a discount to be worth it for me. Pesos are just less convenient. You have to carry and keep track of multiple currencies. Twenty-peso notes are rare nowadays, and you can't easily put a 20 p coin in a girl's top -- so you have to have dollars anyway. Also, it's super easy for meseros to cheat you with pesos. If you order a drink for yourself and a girl and pay with a US $20 bill it's super easy -- they bring you back $7 and you can choose to tip $1-2. If you give them a 500 peso note, they bring you back a 200 peso bill, two 20 p coins, a 10 p coin, and three 1 p coins. It's really easy to just take the bill and leave the coins and now you are tipping 53 p ($2. 75). And if you don't want to tip that much you have to pick through the coins to find the ones you want to keep. If they really want to be bastards they give even more coins.

I use pesos for shops / restaurants, street girls, independent girls, and select escorts.

How can your food pretty good if it had to be microwaved to be edible? Even McDonalds served its food fresh hot. Azul's steak gave me diarrhea last Wednesday. It has to do a lot better than that.

Experience4 d HK meseros would know to bring tortillas, salsa, salt, pepper and condiments with the steak, when requested, bring metal, instead of plastic, utensils into HK, and do it right the first time while the steaks are still hot. In Azul's of course they use metal utensils. Don't know why your food was cold and had to be microwaved.

Unless I find a good mesero like Santiago, I will only order finger food like pizza from Azul's from now on. If I have to walk out of HK I would go to many real and good local restaurants, not a sleazy ho house kitchen that serves bad chows to putas.

My wingmen and I ordered steaks with Azul's voucher to buy 1 get 1 free many times. Seasoned meseros like Santiago know how to deliver the steak cut up with all condiments.

We would ordered 2 steaks, new CoVid price $16 each and get Azul's 190-peso credit for the second steak. So total 640 pesos less 190 pesos credit, total about 450 pesos or $23 for 2 steaks. If you sit in less public spots, quite a few girls would come by for a few bites. HK's girls are young, strong, healthy and hungry. A tall, beautiful girl chomped down most of my steak while sitting on my lap, wiggling her ass, eating, drinking, talking non stop. She was very cute hehe.

Wednesday night we were sitting at a table right next to the main stage under the bright lights. Girls were shy and did not want to partake. Besides the steaks were half cut, messy and did not come with salsa and condiments to make tacos.

Craigslist is a place to start. Also locanto.com.mx has listings. You can also drive around in the area you're interested in and look for signs. Warning. Lots of these are longer-term rentals but everything is negotiable. AirBnB might be a better source for short-term rentals, but they will be more money.

Also, many of the smaller hotels offer weekly and monthly rentals. Villa de Zaragoza springs to mind, and they have kitchenette units, but there are others.

BTW, the food there is pretty good, but it was cold during my last 2 meals. I had them microwave it so it was edible.

Eating in the restaurant is different than eating inside the club. Introducing a sharp weapon into a club full of drunk gringos is a disaster looking for a place to happen.

I was sitting with a HK girl one night. She ordered a plate of Azul's shrimps in a vinaigrette.

The beefy mesero brought the plate with a lot fewer shrimps than I know. So he helped himself to the shrimps on the way over. He laid the plate down on the table then picked up the plumbest shrimp, dropped it into his mouth, chomped on it and smiled broadly. HK 's meseros are mostly dumb, rude and sleazy.

Last night I was drinking in HK near the main stage with a couple bros from out of town. It was very nice meeting these bros, nice, upright, smart, cool people.

After sucking down 4 Bohemias, we ordered Azul's BOGOF rib eye steaks with a HK's voucher. The mesero delivered the steaks uncut, without bread, tortillas or any condiment. He suggested we cut them up with the plastic knives. Damn stupido. I had to convince him take them back to be cut up. By the time he brought them back, they had turned cold. It was dark in the club. I could not see what I was eating. The steaks were much smaller than before and a lot fattier; tasted terrible cold. Damn. Every time the meseros would bring uncut steaks and expect us to eat them with teeth and claws in the messiest ways like beasts. Only a few experienced meseros know how to instruct the chef to do it right. Then I stared having a rumbling stomach, which turned into full-blown diarrhea when I got home. It was definitely food poisoning by the steaks. My wingman ate only 2 bites so he was not effected.

It ruined my night. I am pissed off. Will have a talk with Azul's owner next week. Meanwhile the rib eyes deal and HK is not worth the risk. Order other snacks like pizza, fried shrimp ect to be safe.

You previously stated that you never order beer from the meseros. You also stated that you always order your beers from the bartenders and you nevertip them. That can only mean one thing, you're a "marked man " in that establishment. Undoubtedly every mesero, everybody who works in Hong Kong and Restaurant Azul's knows who you are and they know that you don't tip. That means 100% guarantee that they purposely did something to your food. Not only that, if you hang out in HK as often as you claim they've probably been "fixing up" your food for a long time.

I know the bar restaurant industry very well and a patron who comes in and is known for being a bad tipper or a non-tipper is 100% guaranteed to get his food spit on, dropped on the floor, or use your own imagination. The meseros probably light up with joy when you tell them you're ready to order food from the kitchen. I promise you they have a nickname for you.

Captain my advice to you is don't ever order anything from that kitchen again. You personally as an individual, it simply would be bad for your health to risk eating from there, knowing that they most likely are doing some nasty shit to your food every time you order from Azul's.

Funny story. Reminds me of the time we ordered steak to the room it came with the plastic knife, which was not working to cut steak. We called back down and a mesero brought up a steak knife, the weird thing was he would not leave without the knife we had to do all the cutting while he waited to get the knife back.

At the time I was with gringa #7 and we fought a lot. We always joked that of course they wouldn't want to leave an unsupervised knife in our custody due to the volatile relationship we had.

Now that I think about it they probably don't want to bring a dangerous weapon into HK either.

LOL. They did that to me before too. Gave me plastic knives to cut my steak with. That did not go well. The waiter probably dropped you steak to the floor. Picked it up and wiped it off with his shirt, then back to you. BTW, iodine helps I think with the stomach.
