I too negotiate everything up front and do not pay up-front. This way if you initially sense anything wrong you can end for a small fee or no fee depending on the circumstance. I actually heard that The Whale got violent first last night, by punching a guy just because he was talking to one of the 6-7 girls The Whale had apparently claimed as his own for the night.
