Just got back home from a little Friday afternoon delight. Was in HK for around 3 hours, they had a pretty decent selection for a Friday afternoon. Then you guys popped in my head about how it's not right / fair / etc. Decided to tough it out this time. Wait ended up being practically exactly 60 minutes. Ironically when we were about to reach the gate with CBP a young guy popped up out of nowhere and started talking to an older Mexican man, probably in his 70s, right behind me asking if he would let a couple American buddies stand in line with him so they could cut and they would give him 20 bucks. The old man politely declined and said he didn't need the money and it wasn't fair to the rest of the people standing in line. The young guy kept pressuring him as nicely as he could and the old man still said no. The young guy turns to 3 white guys around 35 years old who were standing to the side and tells them the old man says no. The young guy just stayed in line though with the old man. Guess he was looking to cut in as well. Right when we were going to pass the gate the 3 other guys just end up cutting in anyway and hand the old man a soda and the money. The young guy turns to the old man and says you might as well take it because they're in line anyway, and the old man took the money. I couldn't get too mad because last time I cut the line also, although if that would have happened in front of me instead of back I would have told them they have to stand behind me. I'm not letting anyone cut me. Pretty sure they picked the old man to talk to because they knew he wouldn't put up a fight or do anything about it. And behind the old man were some young girls so they weren't going to do anything about it as well. Thought CBP might say something to the guys because they all cut into the line in what I thought was plain view but they seemed oblivious to it. So either they didnt notice or didnt care this time around.

You come back much too early 530 pm of course the line is very long. I suggest coming back between 10 pm and midnight there is no line at all (except Sunday). Take the trolley to your parked car at the trolley parking lot (free if using the trolley) and back home. (last trolley 1249 am).

The line cutting at the border is mostly a result of passive San Diego, and passive Mexican culture. These people move at half speed compared to the east coast. Driving, walking, . Essentially the line cutting would never happen in NYC. It would be two or three fights a day. I'm surprised gringos would even consider cutting a line and going to Mexican jail. I usually try follow the laws to avoid Mexican jail. The only time I moved up in the line, after 3 hrs in line and watching over 150 people cut me, the local Mexicans went ballistic on me. Because I'm very white. Nobodybsaid nothing to anyone before that. I had to return back to my spot because these guys were close to jumping me they were so angry. You got to remember some of these dudes don't like white or black people. Even the American ones who live on both sides they live in Chula vista area, they don't see many white people and some don't like them.

The last time I saw a couple of guys cut in line at the Tijuana border, a full fight broke out that looked like a gang fight and all sort of shit was thrown. I think I was in the Sentri driving line and saw the fight breaking out in the pedestrian line. What ever self-defense training you have isn't going to save you from what I saw, it's your buddy next to you that is going to save your neck by pulling you out from under 5 attackers that ganged up on you. Looked a lot like the Sharks and the Jets fighting from the movie the West Side Story. I guess the logic was that we got 5 guys cutting in line, who is going to give 5 guys shit? The answer obviously was 10 pissed off guys.

Oh yeah, the border patrol didn't do shit because it was a Mexican jurisdiction issue. I think the only issue they were considering was whether to close the gates.

I usually drive to avoid the hassles of crossing on foot although I nearly qualify for being handicapped. LOL Is Sunday inbound to MX crazy traffic these days? Staying at Cascadas 3 nights. I can fly in an hour. It's 7 hours to drive there.

Have yet to visit Monterrey but haven't heard many great things about it culturally. Just that it has lots of museums. Visited CDMX but wasn't able to see much due to Covid. To me it has some ruins and seems to focus more on that part of the culture. I really like Guadalajara and it does have the tourist theme of "Jalisco es Mexico". It's where tequila comes from and the mariachi. Now everyone has a preference for certain type of women but many Mexicans like the Guadalajara girls "tapatas" because they are usually lighter skin and bigger butts.

Another poster brought up Oaxaca and the only thing I noticed on line is that it's famous for the food especially mole. Also Chiapas was mentioned and I remember meeting a professional photographer on a trip once and he would do photography tours to different parts of Mexico and Chiapas was one of them. He showed be beautiful pictures of traditional women in great outfits and looked great, I forget what the special ceremony was. Also talked to a girl in HK that wanted to take a trip to Chiapas to see some cool nature spots and animals. Many parts of Mexico are completely different from each other just as in the US.

If you have good times with the girls in Tijuana you could just ask them to show you their home town. That way you are guaranteed company and if you like it just go back alone the next time.

I am probably going to do a longer trip in 2023. Sounds like southern Mexico is the way to go.

The other monger tried to haggle him down to 10 bucks but the guy wasn't having it, said 20 was final price. Tried to get him down to 15 and he still said no. We went to the end of the line and said fuck this let's go talk to the guy and approach him with 15 again and if its still a no go we will give him the 20. After more haggling the guy accepted the 15 and had a homeless looking lady take us practically all the way up front before the gate where CBP is at. There was actually another monger already in place so the lady told us to just stand by his side. Wasn't exactly what was agreed upon but we just started talking to the guy like he was our buddy and thankfully he played along and nobody behind us made a fuss about it, which I know could have easily happened.

Have mentioned it on this board before but that offer is ALWAYS a scam. All they're doing is walking you to the front of the line and then walking away to find the next sucker. There's no one that you're trading places in line with. I fell for it once a year or so ago, though the guy quickly accepted my $10 counter offer. I suppose the "scam" does usually work to our benefit but line jumping is wrong (LOL) so I never did it again. With that said, line jumping does seem fairly common (I see it pretty much every time I'm in line both outside and once you're inside the CBP gate where they first check your passport) and they usually don't do anything about it.

Its like passing in their face, because we most of them are going to work and make low wages. They could never pay the fees to cut the line daily, which would be the bus. At times people will tell border patrol you cut the line. Now you have to go to the back. Sometimes Mexican police check sentry passes if your walking up to the front. Good Eats in Oaxaca Capt. I think you would enjoy the different specimens on offer vegan or non vegan. No endless meat trays being passed around the tables like the Barffets in Tijuana but distinctly a higher quality of eats worth taking pictures of.

Maybe you can get a few of the bros together and lobby for Mexico to offer something similar like the Europass so the bros can take advantage of the lower tier PFP Mexico locations without breaking the bank on transportation.

Hk, adelitas, revolution street Tuesday night extremely quiet. Likely the emptiest we will see all three for months, as everyone just had 3 days in row of drinking. As for economical mexico flying, a friend just told me, her brother Flys once a month only pays taxes. Some travel plan you can get 1 free flight a year the plan, I think was 100 or 150. A year.
