My incident was probably about 6 years ago, it was off La Coahuila street. This is the main street for places like the Hong Kong, Adelitas etc. There is a street behind it it that has more bars like La Carreta. These 2 streets are well lit and very safe. This was my first night as an official mongerer in Tijuana. I had done a recon mission during the day with an American girl a month or two before. The only thing I remember was having a shot of Tequila at Adelitas then walking off the two streets I described. It was not well lit. I cannot give you a location now but it was not far away. A Mexican man larger than me by several inches and many pounds choked be from behind trying to get me to pass out then rob me. They usually work in teams of two. After I pulled him down and faced him he looked very frightened before I hit him. I believe he was a desperate Heroin attic that desperately needed money for a fix. He got nothing but a right cross. I am probably the most peaceful person you can ever meet outside a ring. I am of Italian decent and can have a very bad temper when provoked. I do not recommend handling things the way I did. A Mexican girl approached and asked me if I was alright. I told her that I wanted to know where to find this guy so I could kill him. This was a very stupid thing to say. I then had a beer with her and she stole my phone. I then realized how stupid I was and stayed in my Hotel room for the rest of the weekend.

I am glad you escaped unscathed. Nobody wants to get roughed up but you would have made pulp out of him for sure. At night I never stray from the 1 block area. In the day I do walk around (went to downtown passing the church) last Nov. and felt very safe. Plenty of chidden and families out bright and sunny. However at night when shops all close there are no safe refuges or other people to see what bad night people in the streets do!

Did you make eye contact with any of them or notice them before they put you in a choke hold? This is really scary, I want to visit Tijuana I heard it is really safe but things like this deter me because I'm a 6'4 black guy, as much as I will be trying to blend in when visiting Tijuana, I know I will stick out like a sore thumb.

He released me and I punched him in the face, he ran and I chased him for just a little bit as I could no longer put eyes on him. If I would of caught him I would have beat him to death, I am an amateur welterweight boxer in USA boxing Masters Division. I have had sanctioned bouts. You are probably wondering why he selected me. For one I am only 5' 6" at 152 lbs. Number 2, I was alone. Number 3, I ventured off the main drag, number 4, I was new to Tijuana and probably looked it. Since that incident no one even looks at me twice and I do the same mistakes now except for I am a veteran now. I am also very polite to all Mexican Nationals. Or maybe I made my bones. My advise if you are concerned about your safety would be to go with someone, stay on the main drag and you will have nothing to worry about.

Just don't walk around with anything that anyone would want. Thieves are no different than predators in the wild in that they follow the path of least resistance. Me personally, I walk around like I would if I were cleaning out a garage. Regular t-shirt, pants and ZERO jewelry. The great thing about working girls is that you don't have to try to impress, you're going to pay just like the dude before and the one after. And yeah, don't start shit, there typically won't be any. Once in a while some Mexican dude will try the whole bump into my shoulder thing, but I shrug it off and focus on all of the prime poon. Its definitely the yuppy white and Asian dudes in their dress shirts and flashing their Iphones that get targeted.

This is on point. Never bring anything you aren't willing to lose. I used to bring some money and had my ID and passport in my car as I used to drive down to Tijuana in my old Toyota. I dress pretty much like a hobo, tee shirt and shorts or sweat pants, I just always make sure I have good hygiene and smell good for the ladies. I never dress up though, my car is also very old and beat up looking and I find the cops leave me alone most of the time. I might have my debit card in my shoe, and never carry more then $300 in cash on me, pretty much what I am willing to part with. Also and this is very important, never ever get drunk or get high at the strip clubs / brothels, that's a fast track to disaster. Do your drinking in the states or elsewhere, I have been robbed before when I was passed out by a waiter friend of mine, also a couple of the putas robbed me in the past although they all never admitted it LOL.

Yes, I used to do only mineral water with limes before finding a girl in HK for my first session. Junior doesn't work well when I am drinking. I also don't eat a heavy meal too, that's also a boner killer. But in hind sight being overweight is the true killer of everything including your life. Going to start walking then then eventually running again like I did in the military. One thing I did do that i am proud of is to stop smoking cigs....thats the fast track to the cemetery. Sorry for writing so dark, I am just an honest person and write it like I feel.

My go to beer is Tecate light, every bar has them in mass quantity, they also offer 2 for almost the price of one deals in several bars on the strip. They are the Coors light of Mexico.

Went to HK Friday. A lot dudes, not a lot woman like a normal Friday. Wednesday was the lingerie contest and there must been 300 woman at around 10 pm. So maybe some took Friday off. There was definitely a good 40 of them in Chavelas staring at their cell waiting for their HK turn. I took a HK girl for 2 drinks. Only reason I did she would not accept my tip for 20 seconds talking no touching. She really wanted the drink. She was 20, and tiny and hot. Brand new. Just walking to the table I could see either she was drunk or drugs were involved. During the 2 drinks she was mostly dead fish other than 20 seconds when she woke up looking happy and dancing. I tried to get her to only frink water but she wouldn't. It's the dead fish like this that make men so hesitant to buy any other drinks for any girl. She also got upset when I told her my age LOL. So ten minutes later I subtracted 10 years she looked more happy. Moral story it Tijuana. Always subtract 10 years, always say you live in san Diego and come often.

Moral of the story. Don't bother buying 2 fichas for a girl if she doesn't even care about your $1 tip. She was letting you get away for cheap and you still wasted money on her.

Since it seems all HK girls are required to spend a period of time in Las Chavlas, I see this as an opportunity to get an HK girl at a lower price. I always recall seeing reports that girls on the HK side were less.

LOL. In my experience (as a black person myself, though not 6'4") you won't have much to worry about. Think you can relax. GENERALLY speaking (and realize that this is a generalization so is certainly not always true), street "thugs" and corrupt Mexican cops aren't looking to target us black folk. Their targets tend to be people who they think would be easier to "pick on" and people who they think they would most likely be able to hit up for $$$ (I. E. , clean-cut, reasonably dressed white dudes). I've been across the border dozens of times and have yet to have a negative encounter with Mexican police or any civilian. My one experience with a cop down there was actually positive. But part of avoiding issues I think is dressing down and keeping a low profile. Honestly, Tijuana is not unlike any other "dangerous" place in the USA 99% of the time, as long as you don't start shit there won't be shit. Not at all saying it was the case in Dogers69 story, but for a lot of these stories you hear about USA Citizens getting robbed or getting into a confrontation in Zona Norte, the person telling the story will conveniently leave out the part where they did something stupid to attract attention to themselves in the first place. You're just getting one side of the story with some of the stories on this board.

Don't know if you ever met a girl called Lola in HK but as hard as I am on myself about the weight when we were in the room I was poking fun of myself "Gordito" belly. And Lola was so nice really putting me at ease. Like it was no big deal. She just wanted the money and seemed happy to get fucked! Don't have to put the fork down or stop beer just change the types => 1 Sam Adams has 8 times the carbs as 1 Michelob Ultra. This is why Ultra is such a popular beer these days. There are many low carb beer options now, Yuengling even has one now.

For food replace some carbs with fat (yes fat), protein and vegetables and you can still feel full. I still eat some fries but try to eat only the parts with skin (fiber) on them. Same for potato skins (I carve out the starchy part and eat the cheese + skin). I avoid flour tortillas (white flour the worse thing for anyone ever since ancient Egyptians invented it) and only eat corn (more fiber).

Also I avoid sugary drinks and high fructose corn syrup (worst permutation of sugar). I mainly drink unsweetened ice tea, Coke Energy Zeros and occasional diet soda.
