Hobby is very YMMV and depends on what your budget is for fun. Some pay less while others pay more. Good service is not guaranteed even if you have regulars you meet up with often as people change. The prices have not gone up a lot compared to 5 years ago. Service was $60-$80 and people were probably bitching. Now it is $80-$100. It is still "affordable" compared to hobby in USA Which could be described as illegal only if you get caught. For better deals, I suggest Thailand or Columbia, but then you have to deal with flying halfway across the world for one location and maybe Columbia might offer more to those on East Coast. I am also confused about the fear of being out and about in Tijuana. My Airbnb is probably in the hood with narco warehouses and nice graffiti art with numbers 13 and 18 lined out. Not sure if it is a turf war between the members of 13 and 18, but it is a quiet location and people are friendly always offering the greeting of the day. I would imagine it would be a different story if you went to Southside Chicago projects or areas outside of Bourbon St. In New Orleans.
