I got choked out on the street on the side of the alley that you walk to get to revolution. Other violence I've seen was a 1 punch knock out sucker punch of a guy o. The sidewalk in between playboy club and the alley. A naked guy getting tazered by policia. Another dude wrestling with a policia in the alley. Two female waiters, fighting, one put other in chokehold on sidewalk in front of a bar closer to the arch where the trans girls hang out. Of course I had the guns put on me ski masks when some group of 4 wanted to look in my cascades hotel. They looked at alot of the rooms. They said they were policia but I don't believe it. The most interesting fight was at Palomar trolley station a group of guys started arguing one was backing up, 7 surrounded him read to jump him, but he backed up to the garbage pale where he had a machete hidden. You gota be ready for anything out here on the west coast. People are nuts.

Went to HK Saturday night after the Uber driver who picked me up told me it was closed. I found it to be about 70% of the normal sized crowd on a Saturday night. The quality and selection of girls was awful though. It was the worst I have ever seen it, and I am sure it had a lot to do with the recent closure and rumors flying around. HK club is a lot safer then the streets are. You won't be caught up in anything unless you are very unfortunate.

In retrospect: From their balcony I saw a man get shot in the back after a drug deal gone bad. Other times. Watching constant drug deals from that balcony was like reality tv without the tv. . Once the cartel heffe sat up there with us. (a visible handgun in his pocket) but I did not feel threatened.

In Rosarito I saw a man killed outside my neighbors house. (another drug deal gone bad) and there were constant troop trucks driving up into the barrio hills by my studio. I could hear gunfire almost every weekend. Once the cartel attacked the Rosarito police station. Once they took over a tourist bus and robbed them all. Once in Puerto Nuevo the bullets bounced off the walls behind me in as a kidnapping had ensued. Once I was car jacked at the scenic overlook on the toll road. All in all the bullets never hit.

I'm very bad with exchange rate math. But because my revolution hotel is in pesos I could see I'm paying more with the credit card. Basically at this point, for every 100 dollars, we are payingv7 dollars more than when the exchange rate was 19 to 1. Hk hotel price is in dollars. And hk beer prices is in dollars unless you really want to use pesos. But for guys that start running around Tijuana going to other hotels restaurants alot of Uber, theres q built in expense now. Not only that the price of street vendors food seems to have risen 20% since the 4 months ago I was away. In fact my Tijuana hotel is so expensive now thwres no savings to staying in San Diego because its still down period tourist wise in San Diego this week.

$100-120 is way too expensive, never pay $120, forget that.

Keep the prices low, don't get overcharged. Say no to all those high prices.

Probably not the overdoses / deaths, but some of the other stuff. Goes back to HK just happening to hike their prices the same week the federales came and shut Adelitas down a while back. Also the fire at Chicago just happening to occur the same day HK got raided. I just get the sense that there's something a bit deeper there. Again, perhaps tied to HK making a move to take over Zona Norte. While it's just a rumor, a regular chica of mine who's worked at both Adelitas and HK (works at HK right now) and who I trust basically told me as much. That the owners of HK are conspiring with another rich businessman who has an issue with the owner of Adelitas to run the Adelitas owner out of Tijuana.

Yeah, something is definitely going on within HK right now. It's hard to tell what exactly. But the death of this US citizen recently is not helping the situation. We should have all expected this. The zona and HK is too dangerous for this type of mongering to last forever. Don't be surprised if there is a shut down of HK for good or it becomes way too risky to go there anymore.

I think at least for right now it may be too risky to go to the zona and HK. It's really hard to tell, but given that these events are happening live and as we speak, I don't think the dust has settled, and there may be a few more wilder things to come. Again, hard to tell for sure, just my speculation.

Is it safe to continue going to HK from now and into June? Or should mongers hold off?

What is really happening. I hear all this talk about shootings and what not, outside of HK and in the zona. What is actually happening, is there current fighting?

Yep, very hard to beat HK, for a evening or a few days. I hear all these complaints, but nothing comes close HK, it is in a league of its own.

I can either pay $400-500 for a girl on SA and this does not count food or drinks.

A Strip Club or escort would be even more and most of these girls have many issues and lots of drama. I just do understand how you guys can complain about Tijuana, so much fun. I have 5 hour drive to MTY or have to catch a flight, for the Hot Latinas.

Definitely agree HK is in a lead of its own.

BUT, the vibe of the club and the number of people employed (meseros, gals) which is also the basis of their power is fueled not just by the big spenders but the average guy who comes to HK buys drinks for a gal and takes her up. Those average guys will reduce frequency if prices rise and that will impact top line and bottom line. Both matter since top line is what gives them leverage.

Wow! I've been to Zona a lot and never heard a gunshot. Also strange it happened in the morning. The police and military really have to handle this or their golden goose is going to die. The other outlying clubs are okay with cheaper drink options, but they are so spread apart and selection is lacking. Hopefully they see a boost with girls finding other options for work. I'm sure they can't remain in their small town or ranches for too long as money runs out.

This reminds me of a trip a couple of years ago. Was at HK on a Friday / Saturday night and everything was super crowded. I've got a bit of a buzz going and don't speak a word of Spanish. Watching the whipped cream show and then all of a sudden all the guys leave, like almost everyone. Girls are all still there, show is still going on, so me and a couple of other guys grab a good seat and keep on enjoying life. Things pick back up after a couple of minutes, I don't think anything of it. About 20-30 minutes later I decide to leave and do a stroll around the block, mostly because the smoke was bothering me. There was a huge crowd on the back area and tons of police with lights flashing and the street closed. Turned out someone got shot, I had no clue. Only time I have seen anything lke that. Guess it's a good thing my next trip isn't till June, and I think I will have something set up with a service, ZN might be a no go for a bit.

Ok, so I did not want to be the 1 starting rumors, and didn't say anything specific yesterday about what I heard about the Zona situation. Because what I heard was very serious. The guy who gave me this was a Chicago club hotel guest refugee who ran off the revolution street after the fire in Chicago. Now he does coke and weed, and drinks, so there's chance he's giving out bad info. But what the monger said was that the military in the street told him all this stuff is related and its about employees of each club fighting and there was a big shootout in the area. I don't know if it was in street or in hotel. But thata what he said the Mexican military told him. Its kind of like China saying the virus started 2 blocks away from the virus making lab and not from the lab. I don't believe in coincidences. But that's me the pessimist. That all happned thurs night. Things seem back to normal now though. So who knows.
