Things to do, places to see in Tijuana outside of La Zona

Mercado Hildago is no where near Constitution, and also not on 6th street. Mercado Hildago is located on Sancho Trabado, in between the east ends of 9th street and 10th street.

One block outside of La Zona, on the southwest corner of 2nd and Constitution, it the historical museum of Tijuana.

I don't know about a lot of good clubs located on 4th street near Revolution. It is my understanding that the very good, and very hot & new clubs are on Sexta (6th street next to Revo.). However Sexata is for a younger crowd, great for my 20 year-old son, but not for some fat old past-middle-age guy, like myself.

If you like fish, Tijuana's fish district is three and four blocks east of Revo, also on 6th street. There's even a couple of good seafood restaurants within the fish district (my favorite is at the east end of the fish district).

A more convenient place from LZ (instead of Negrete) to get on the collectivos going to the beach (Playas) is on third street, immediately west of Nino Heroes. Collectivos charge 12.5 pesos per person each way (the equivalent of 85 cents at current exchange rates). You will know that you reached Playas when you see the large Bullring.

Hey, why not go to see a bullfight? The bullfighting season typically runs from May thru September, but I don't know exact details of the 2015 season. In the past they occurred nearly every Sunday afternoon at the "Bullring by the Sea" since the downtown bullring was closed years ago. Here's the website for the bullring to you can see the schedule, all I saw scheduled for this month was a pair of concerts:

    www.plazamonumental.com

Tijuana has an official city baseball teams called the Toros. They play at Gasmart Stadium, which was totally renovated two years ago. Often you can get free tickets at Gasmart locations. Tijuana also has a soccer team called the Xolos. I believe their season is currently over, but it is a long season that might start up again in late August.

Around three to four miles east and north of La Zona is Plaza Rio, which is the largest upscale area in Tijuana. It contains an excellent mix of moderate to plush stores and vendors and several movie theaters, including the Cinepolis VIP that provides cushy loves seats and waitress service that includes alcoholic drinks and sushi (although I'm told that the Cinepolis at the Hippodrom, and even Playas, are better than the one at Plaza Rio).

For a cultural experience, or other decent entertainment, one of the better places to go in Tijuana outside of La Zona is CECUT (Central Cultural Tijuana). It is two short blocks North of Mercado Hildago. They have an IMAX theater and other theaters, including a very nice playhouse as well as a museum dedicated to the history of Baja Mexico in that complex. They also have an aquarium in CECUT. It is the cultural center right next to Plaza Rio. This is their website:

    http://www.cecut.gob.mx/imax.php#e3333.

Caliente has a very large gambling casino on the west side of Revolution between 2nd and 3rd street.

One the next block, between 3rd and 4th street is Caesars, a large hotel, fine dining restaurant and nightclub. The restaurant makes the claim of inventing the Caesar's salad.

It seems that every month there is one or two food or booze expos or festival events where one or more blocks of Revolution are closed to auto traffic.

One the pedestrian path, directly across from Piri pharmacy, is the Tijuana Wax Museum (Museo de Cero). Is contains likenesses of former US and Mexican presidents, entertainers, historical images, including some fairly gory images. If you've already been to the Hollywood Wax museum, you will not be impressed.

Your calls to HK's 800 number are answered by the coat girls, Miriam or Perla. You can hear her hassle the driver on another phone line, but every time I call for the pick up limo, there was a long wait.

On the way back, it's much faster with the limousine waiting right in front of the club. Tell the coat girl, or the security manager, that you need a ride back to La Linea. They will check your VIP card and send the driver. It will drop you off at the taxi stand about half a mile from the border entry.
If I have a reservation at Cascadas hotel for one night and not buy the HK VIP card, would I still be able to get the free pickup from the border say on a Wednesday morning (I plan to stay at Cascadas that night) and then get a free ride back to the border on the Thursday?

At the risk of having Jackie calling me a nit picker, I would like to correct this portion of his recent post.

HK sells a VIP card for $50 (or 650 pesos). It is good for four months and can be used to get a daily free drink in the bar, free rides to and from the border, discounts on rooms at Rizo de Oro and Casades, and a group of lessor benefits.

But it is not necessary to purchase a $50 VIP card in order to get a free drink or a free ride to or from the border. You just need to go to HK's website:

    http://hktijuana.com/

And then click on the Free Coupon button. Currently they are offering four different coupons: One is a 2-for-one drink, another for a free ride from the border & return to the border, another for 2-for-one appetizers, and a fourth one that provides a half-priced lap dance in their privado rooms:

    http://hktijuana.com/specials.php

Someone who purchases the $50 VIP card can use all of these benefits in a single night.

A coupon clipper that does not buy the VIP card can use only one of these coupons per day.

Here's a little tip: Whenever you use one of these coupons you will be asked to give them your e-mail address. If you do not buy a HK VIP card, and attempt to use more than one coupon in a single visit to HK, it's possible. Be sure to use each coupon with a generous amount of time in between coupon presentations. Use different meseros each time you present a coupon, and use the customer relations desk just once per day / visit, and Always provide a different e-mail address each time with each coupon you try to use.

Tijuana's wholesome activities outside La Zona Roja

There are a lot of world-class beauties in the bars, especially Hong Kong, and in the alley. A lot more good-looking chicas than you can ever sample, even if you stay in La Zona for the whole month and screw full time.

Besides sex, Tijuana offers plenty of wholesome activities to visitors:

    1. Concerts and shows at the plaza near the arch on Saturday.

    2. Shopping trinkets and leather goods at the arch and Revolucion / Constitucion.

    3. Hang out on Constitucion, South of La Zona, to see how average people live. Try to visit Mercado Hildago near Calle 6, where food and spices are sold.

    4. Hang out at bars and clubs on Revolucion and Calle 4 to see how young Tijuana people party. Try Las Pulgas, a popular club on Revolucion, and let big, fat, old Mexicanas hit on you. Hehe. Well, I did find a few angelic-looking young chicas party and dance here.

    5. Try a few restaurants outside of La Zona Norte, as reported in this forum. Ask your favorite chub or street girls to take you to their favorite restaurants, or hit the places recommended by a food-tour company in San Diego.

    6. Take a collectivo from Ave Negrete to Rosarito Beach, only costs a few bucks. Take your favorite putas to Potpola or Puerto Nuevo fishing villages for lobster and possible subsequent sex on the beach.

    7. Take a bus tour from the border to Ensenada, a nice clean, quiet beach town with normal Mexicans, not sex and bar touts. Deep-sea fishing party boat is about $50 per person, negotiable. I caught many Basses in the summer and big ling cods in the winter.

I am sure the other bros have more and better suggestions.

I plan on parking my car at the border, then walking across. Has any taken the HK shuttle or pick up service that will take you to the hotel?

Once there I plan on reserving a room for the evening. Once I'm done with my mongering. What's the next step? Do I take a cab back to he border then cross back. Is it that simple? I've heard of nightmare stories about being stopped by the police for no reason and they would plant drugs in your pocket.

Any advice on logistics getting in or out would be welcomed.

    Thank you
Talks of shakedowns are overblown especially if you're not the foot explorer type which you don't seem to be. HK pickups are available in theory if you're a VIP member which you don't seem to be.

Go. Have fun. Take your cash and passport with you. Leave the Credit cards home. If you want to truly enjoy, sample the food, the beer, the dancing. Do more than just monger.

It feels weird to offer advice but I now think I will be able to.

Yes, I've taken the ride they offer and it's a legit limo, not a car with a sound system. I tipped the driver $1, and he was cool. It's not like the commercials on YouTube where hot girls pull you in the limo. No one is inside. And when your about to leave, tell the girl at the counter you want the ride back. Same process. Get right into the line of the border, don't look around and make eye contact with the police and you'll be fine. Oh and, when you call, make sure it's an hour before you get to the hotel and call as soon as your walking to the gas station, where they pick you up at. It the only one across that bridge from the border.

    In town thru Tuesday.
I noticed that the quality has dropped after Christmas and has never rebounded. Sure I still see the same girls that I have banged before but normally there is a influx of new hot girls. I haven't seen any. Maybe I'm burned out and my requirements have gone up a notch or maybe Medellin has really spoiled it for me. I know I know, two different fruits. Still, the quality has not been the same. The ones that were hot have been wifed up. There was a couple who I don't see as much and only work when they need to earn some money or just broke up with their novio's and only to go back to them. Maybe now that summer is around the corner the girls will come back soon.

    Cascadas rate vs exchange rate

Haven't posted on here for a while but I noticed recently that the rates for the rooms went up by $5 but the exchange rate they are using in both the hotel and bar are 13 to 1. This was this past weekend. Of course I paid in pesos but maybe the guy at the counter was still calculating the old exchange rate.

Sunday a lot slower there and the upstairs was closed again as there renovating. Had a few beers and hit a SW for 200 pesos the the taco guy.

I did notice on Sunday trying to get a cab back to the border a bunch of cabs drivers were asking 70 pesos instead of 50 like the usual, I passed till I got a 50 pesos one.
If you received a free beer, you probably have a VIP card. With that card, you are entitled to a free limo / SUV ride back to the border. Just tell the doorman.

    HK Chicas for Memorial weekend

Went in HK after 8 PM. The place was packed. There were a lot of chicas. Just about all my favoritas were present. A few I have not seen in years also came back.

Esperancia, the little girl with her perfect body, was back, wearing her Zorro's mask. She passed out drunk one night and was carried out to a taxi by the big fat mesero.

A girl with a long name I have not seen in HK for a few years, came back. She had the most perfect pair of global boobs with tiny pink nipples, and used to flop them out of her top for admirers. She's light-skinned, blonde hair with a pretty face, wearing a nice black party dress. She speaks English well, with nice, polite, pleasant manners with her sweet smile. She was one of my favorites.

I came over to reacquaint. She plopped out her boobs to show me, but instead of a pair of perfect globes, they are now a pair of shriveled, pointy A cups. She probably had babies and the milk tissues inside her breasts collapsed. It's probable that the little brown guy, she was in love with, ran away after she had babies, and she had to come back to HK to work. I wanted her tel to schedule a future session but she declined, smiling broadly, asking me to take her upstairs before I can have her tel. She's such a good-looking, nice and sweet girl, that I have to take her up again.

Sasha had the same droopy boobs problem. But she's still a very beautiful girl and put up a very nice strip routine.

About midnight, a girl I have not seen for a few years, came back, It was Andrea. She still looked needy and latched onto me, wanting to go to the hotel. I had to turn her down, having no more ammo, and was ready to go home. Gave her a few $ propinas and sent her away.

The 2 wingmen had a great time in the club, buying cheap beers with their 2 for 1 coupons. Just give the coupons to the coat girl and she will quickly staple a receipt to them. The coupons no longer require lengthy manager's approval.
